i put new batteries in. still not letting me type. not sure if supposed to be flashing cursor, but not flashing

I assume you clicked in the window and no typing points to keyboard issue.
No neighbour friend etc you can ask for a loan for a keyboard?

its the original Mac keyboard. aren't they blutooth?
no, but I see some on Amazon I like and don't mind getting one

Does it have a dongle.

This is the style of keyboard you need.
I am not saying buy this one this is the type/style

Ok. Hold on. I put dongle in mac from other computer and type in box works so hold on I need to scroll back and type

So shift key no good.
What about windows key and R key
Don't forget to keep pressed in.
