A couple of issues I am hoping for some help with

Do you know how to set the Bios ? Normally press F2 then set to defaults should be an option. Then F10 to save and exit

Yeah I know how to get into it. I had to change it to ATA to even install xp

The only thing I can think of is a corruption somewhere in the downloaded file

I had someone send me another copy of Win Xp that they say they know is good. I am uninstalling the one I have and going to try this one and see if the luck is any better. If not, then I am at a loss. I can’t find my thumbdrive, so I will need to get another. But I may just try what you have here with another blank cd. I hate to keep using them, but my primary objective at this point is just to get this PC working.

My first boot device is set at disc drive, because of when I installed XP. I just haven’t changed it yet. But I will.

I don’t think I have done this. So I will try it too.

Try before changing xp. Change bios if needed.
The corruption can be in the download/burning more so then the xp

I didn’t have any options like this under configuration.

yeah depends on the age of the computer - so should be good
If that last driver does not work. I don’t know what is next - Still have my thinking on

. I know a guy who runs a PC shop, he said he will look at it for if I can’t get it to work

Between graduate school and work I just didn’t have the time to keep working on it. I took it to the PC shop and he was able to get it going. It is working now. I appreciate all your time and help. I made a small donation (not near worth what you put into my issue) as a token of gratitude.
