it seems to be working fine on my friends laptop, although he owns no games to test, music seems to be playing fine for him like it was for me.

Did you use the same speaker cable/s.

Have you tried headphones?

Have you tried both the front and rear audio ports on the computer.

Are you using a HDMI cable from the video card to your screen.

Some helpful tips here for you to check.

Last but not least, use your last system restore point that your created before you uninstalled the previous drivers.

yes i have two monitors one has HDMI to the pc and the other is connected via DVI

I HAVE JUST HAD AN UPDATE i connected my Bluetooth earphones to the PC Bluetooth and the sound is working perfectly fine, I played a game and no static at all, however it’s annoying i cant use my speakers still ):

Which confirms that the audio chip is still working and the drivers are good.

Do you get any audio from the HDMI monitor.

Can you upload a screenshot of the Volume mixer, you right click on the speaker icon on the taskbar and then select Open Volume mixer.

no the monitor doesn’t have sound coming from it, only the speakers, I’ve put the speakers back to my PC and it worked for a few mins then it started going static, on the left side and then silent, then the right side followed. THIS picture is what you requested whilst a video is playing, there’s no sound coming from the speakers just small fuzz/static now.

i`m stumped tbh, I can only think that there is a problem with the internal speaker connection/s or something interfering with the audio chip

Long shot but when you next watch a video can you go into the Device Manager then Sound, Video and Game Controllers, what audio setting is shown to be the default, if it is HDMI audio it would explain the no audio coming through the speakers.

Did you happen to look at the information at the link in my reply #47, I don`t use any apps so have none to try allocating sound to for testing purposes.

There is a way around this if we are unable to find and correct the problem, a USB audio device

AMD High Definition Audio Device
HD Webcam C270
Realtek Audio

The HDMI is not interfering with things then so back to a loose connection or possibly the audio chip being affected by something.

Did you notice the installation dates for those drivers in your screenshots, almost three weeks ago, the unknown device could be your webcam.
