Moving on to Post #70.
Hit the windows Key and R at the same time:

Copy this:

Hit Enter or Click OK

Then This:
When I paste the info and Enter, the black window simply disappears. Is this correct? In case it is, I pasted each of the first three. Nothing noticeable happens. Continue?

Then when BlackBird loads.
Hit enter again.
Close the window when complete.
What would cause Blackbird to load? It didn't load automatically so I dbl-clicked it. I got the same 3 options as before, so I closed it.

Go to post #77
Download and unzip run both batch files.
One will create a restore point and one will create an admin command prompt shortcut on your desktop.
Let me know when you have done that.

Then create a new batch file named disableservices&task.bat
Copy the text below.
Paste into open notepad name it disableservices&task.bat
Save to desktop and run as admin, then reboot.

The restore point was created if you ran it, I imagine the command prompt was not created due to there being powershell commands in the batch file,

(Execution Policy on your machine)

No need to change that, I am uploading the shortcut for you.

Move onto the next step.

.bat then unzip right click run as admin. I attached it to make easy. ????

To be safe, run both so I know for sure . ????

Now: Make sure that BlackBird.exe is on your desktop.

Hit the windows Key and R at the same time:

Copy this:

cmd /c %userprofile%\Desktop\blackbird.exe -registry
Paste into the run box.
Hit Enter or Click OK

Then when BlackBird loads.
Hit enter again.
Close the window when complete.
Now reboot the machine.

To free up resources when you want on demand:

Download KillEmAll
Download Reduce Memory

Unzip them both to your desktop.
Right click an empty space on your desktop
Create a new folder
Name it tools.

Drag KillEmAll.exe & ReduceMemory_x64.exe
Into the new folder named tools.
Right Click desktop create new text document.
right click rename it KillEmAll_Allowed.txt
I did all this previously.

Then open command prompt >>>>>>>>
tasklist > "%USERPROFILE%\Desktop\tasklist.txt"
Here you will find the short command for your browser for example firefox.exe
Paste firefox.exe into KillEmAll_Allowed.txt
Here's where I get confused:
1. Is the command prompt Windows + R or something else?
2. What about the word 'tasklist'? Is this a button, a menu option, or something I type into a field?
3. How did Firefox get into this?
4. How do I know what to put in the Allow list?

4. How do I know what to put in the Allow list?

Skip the tasklist.txt. Just add chrome.exe to the Allow list for now. This will stop anything but chrome from running, you should not be trying to run multiple programs on this computer as I said before, so in between doing any one task on your computer run the kill batch this will leave open only your browser. You really need to add more ram, but this could help until you do. (y)

Basically we add chrome.exe for now to get this created and in order, I can help you add anything else you like once it is done. But the idea here is to not add very much to it as this will be used to free up resources. When the machine is sluggish. So add chrome.exe continue with the instructions and we go from there.

OK, thanks for clarifying. I paused when I saw that I could only run one program at a time. Right now I'm able to use three programs without much delay.

That’s not what is intended. You just create the batch file then use it when the machine is sluggish. Go ahead a continue the steps and get it created. Then we can add the other programs to the list. ????

Or, you say the problem of coming out of sleep is solved, and now you are running three programs without issue. We can close the thread, or continue. It’s up to you.

I have completed all the steps in post #61:
Created Allow list (chrome.exe)
Created Allow list (2) (chrome.exe, word.exe, excel.exe, thinkorswim.exe); this file is not located in Tools or the Desktop
Created Addtorightclick.bat in Tools/Desktop
Ran as Admin (it did not close Word, Acrobat Reader, or ThinkorSwim)
