Do you have room and powerpoints to connect new and old computer and have on at the same time?
no i can use flip phone but it is slow and tiny. This is from flip phone

The last 2 days i called and left a message for this mobile computer repair place to see if they would come and help but they never returned my calls.

Do you have a neighbour or friend who can come in
or your daughter
Sadly, my daughter is in TX, the friend i had that set up my comp 13 years ago is dead, and my neighbors wont be of any help. I have some things connected except the the things i will need to first disconnect the old comp. Another Q, is that little button on the top right the thing i push to turn it on? Will a light come on to say its on?

yes

Cant tell from the pic
Is there any spare spot on the power board
Power board? The front of the comp? Another Q, the cable that goes from the monitor to the comp looks exactly the same on both ends. Does it matter which end goes where?

Can you plug the new compter into one and the monitor into the other?

If possible connect the new computer into the surge protector
Plug the monitor into the surge protector
Turn on
When it gets to the setup network part
Just disconnect the network cable from the old and connect to the new.
NO NEED TO POWER EITHER OF THEM OFF

would this be possible for a temp solution?

Are you saying leave my old comp on until the internet connection is needed on the new one? Its possible to do. One thing is its hard for me to move around quickly and get down on the floor alot to make all these connections. Would you be mad if we wait 1 more day so i can try and find someone to asist? If not i will rest up tomorrow as much as possible and 1 way or another i will get this done tomorrow. I can temporarily put the new comp on the floor and let it run and leave the old comp monitor on the desk until everything is done.

Not at all
Take your time I am in no hurry
If you can find an able body to help that is fine.
Take as long as you need.
If you have someone to help then have them connect power and network to new computer and switch on.
If something is not looking right they can connect the network cable back to the old one for you.
And you are back online.

Correct
Once windows is loaded to the desktop screen shut it down and move old out new in
Take your time.
Just remember when it gets to the Let's connect to the network stage just swap the network cable over from the back of the old
to the new. No need to power off the old or the new.
Network cables can be switched when computers are powered on

Thanks so much for your help. About how long does it take for the new comp to completely load?

Do not know
I have not bought a new comp in the past 18 odd years
My guess is 1/2 to 1 hour.
I know one person who says he can reload in 10mins but it all depends on the computer itself.

Is 14 years old for a computer? I will just be happy when i will no longer be getting "cant connect because your browser is not updated" messages. And the problems with logging in, and the constant messages saying a script is slowing things down, and on and on, lol

A couple more questions before i try and get this running tonight. The keyboard doesnt have any lights like mine does. No green light for the num, caps or scroll key. How do i even know if the keyboard is working? My keyboard now has a round connection and this one is square so it wont fit. I bought one at walamrt and the woman said it will fit my comp. It has lights. Can i use the walmart one instead. Also, there isnt a light for the monitor. How do i know if it is working? Also, there is no diagram provided. Which button turns it on or off? It has to be on when i start the comp., And, i might have forgotten but does it ask me to set up the anti-virus when i turn it on and it loads, and i should say no?

Ok, i figured out which one is the monitor power button and it came on. its not hooked to the comp yet though
