see if you can find a pic that looks like the back of the new computer and post a link
I need to go for about 45 mins
Ok, my mobility is very limited and i need friends or uber to take me places. I spent 2 hours at the doctor then went to best buy and i am done. I will look for a pic to post in a few minutes.

This is the exact one. The green is where the speaker will go then i assumed the blue connection right under it is where the hdmi cable would go, but i think it should go in the hole right under. The ethernet is the large black hole in the row of 3?

Can the keyboard and mouse go in either black connection? Tomorrow im going to connect as much as i can on the new comp and monitor then wait till you or some other expert arrives. Thanks so much. One thing, can you tell me exactly what they will ask about the microsoft acct?

Yes

No I set one up tooooooooo long ago to remember.
It will be a basic sign in with a current email - from anyone. Or setup a new microsoft email
Mobile Phone number - for account recovery incase you lose your password.
However, we can set it to a local account once you have logged in for the first time.
A Microsoft account does not need a Microsoft email. The email address used to sign into your Microsoft account can be from Outlook.com, Hotmail.com, Gmail, Yahoo, or other providers. From Here Click on me

Also the computer will come with 6mths anti virus protection from McAfee or Nortons
DO NOT set this up we will delete them.
Windows comes with its own protection which is now better than the bought ones.

Will aol work? Its the only email i have. I just have this bad feeling something will go wrong. Why cant it just be turn it on and it works, like a tv. You said dont set up the anti-virus. Will it ask me to when i turn it on?

I think i put the stand on right but this monitor isnt adjustable like mine now. Can i go and buy a monitor from walmart that adjusts and will fit the comp? It must be able to adjust.

I want it to slant up some but it wont budge and im afraid if i put too much pressure on it, it will break.

Will my modem work with the new comp?
Yes
if you must you can return the monitor to best buy and ask for a different model.

From what I can see the monitor will tilt back and forth but not up and down.
I have only seen 1 monitor that will slide up and down - Dell and it does not tilt.
You can use your current monitor and return the new one to best buy for a refund.
Your old monitor plugs into the blue port above the current monitor.
I put it together wrong or something and now i cant get it back apart.
I doubt it they basically can only go one way
have a look at the pic in post#207 Click on me

Thanks, I got the monitor to work, It seems i had the connection pushed in too far and it wouldnt move. I think ive figured out how to hook things up

2 more Q's. Will AOL email work for an account and is it going to ask me to set up the anti-virus and should i say no?

The thing is about that Gmail thing is i have a gmail account it seems, ( email deleted for privacy reasons ) but when i sent an email to that address it doesnt go anywhere. The email is sent, AOL doesnt say there was an error, but i cant find anyplace that has a log of emails like AOL does. You click on AOL mail and you can see new emails, old emails, spam emails and deleted. If i have to put in a gmail and it says they are sending me an activation code i wont be able to get the code.
