Not to worry about that. There is no reason the computer should have done what it did. I would not worry.
It’s just old and needs updated, we will tackle that after I see the latest Frst log

Im just worried now if i should just leave it on and not risk another restart. Thanks again.

It’ll be fine. I’ll check the logs here in a few.

Save this fix list to your desktop.
Make sure it is next to FRST side by side.
Right click FRST and run as admin.
Click the fix button.

@jxdama We are almost there, this last fix will remove some redundant items from your machine, then we will try and install service pack 2 and get you a stable browser for your machine.

Thanks. Will give it a try this afternoon. The comp restarted ok last night.

Ok, Here is a browser that is reliable for vista!!

Since UR is chrome based, you will be able to install UblockOrigin.

Install this as soon as you get the browser installed.

Here is service pack 2 for your vista, disable avast prior to installing this.
Click here to start the download.

If the download does not start then click restart the download as I have highlighted in the picture below.

I wanted to ask about service pak num 2. I seem to remember a few years ago someone deleted it off my comp because they said it was causing problems. Should i try and put it back on? Thanks

because they said it was causing problems.
That is not right, that person did not know what they are talking about.

Should i try and put it back on?

Yes please do, if it fails to install then we will go from there. Make sure you disable avast prior to installing.

Have you installed the browser and ublock origin?

Im going to do that today. Will my other browsers still work after the download?

Yes they will not be affected by either the service pack or the other browser, nice you start the install of the browser you will have the option to transfer your bookmarks.

How is the computer running now after the latest fix? Websites open correct?
Also once the other browser is installed check those websites to see if there are any issues.

More roadblocks. I clicked on the download for UR and it says "Thank you for your interest in the UR browser but windows vista is not currently supported. We apologize for the inconvenience"

The computer seems a bit faster after the fix but the same websites still wont load. Most will load though.

It deleleted AIM. I kept that before because i was afraid i couldnt access aol mail but i can. Thanks for your continued help.

Here. Slim Browser is what you will need.

You can add Ublock Origin as well.

As far as my research goes, VISTA is definitely supported with slim browser.

Download and run Startup lite.

Make sure your date and time are set correct.

I will do that this afternoon. The internet says UR works for vista but it didnt for me, lol. My time and date are right but now that you bring it up some sites wont load on chrome because it says the date and time arent right.
