Sudden FPS drop

Your GPU for some reason is no longer providing the performance that it was once capable of, nothing to do with Windows so reinstalling will not help.

A failing GPU or the GPU not getting enough power from the PSU are the only two possible causes.

Hey, I tried to plug the GPu to second PCI-E slot and it looks like it works good, I started league fo legends and have 240fps instead of 20. But than it droped to 70, but I think its still normal, In fortnite its jumping between 30 to 150, but when I do fast move it drops to 10 or less.

Is there some difference between PCI-E slots ?

So I think second slot helped but there is still something bad, beacuse previously it was going without lags, and without problem.

Hmm, that suggests a problem with the PCI-E x16 slot itself, the slot that you are using now is PCI-E x4 which is slower that the PCI-E x16 slot.

You cannot judge or test the performance of anything by online gaming so forget any FPS drops that you are getting.

So the problem is in PCI E x16 slot ?

That means that ill have to use this x4 for rest of using this computer ? Or will it be better with time.

Beacuse if there is problem in motherboard I still have garancy from shop to repair ir.

Based on the poor performance in what is meant to be the faster of the two PCI-E slots and the fact that the GPU works better in the slower x4 PCI-E slot the only explanation is the PCI-E slot has issues.

Any problems with the PCI-E slot will not get better with time and will most likely get worse.

If you have a warranty, call it in and if you are able be present when any testing gets done I would recommend it, it is far too easy for people to say that everything worked for them or to return the same item instead of replacing it.

Have you tried running Furmark and SUPERPOSITION while the card is in the second slot.

Just treid tests, and its same as before.

So you think I should drop my MB to some servis, that they will look where is problem, and than not getting same one but get different MB ?

And also now is the Fan in gpu and on all pc running more often

It makes no sense you getting the same results when you say that things are better with the GPU in the slower x4 slot, try putting the GPU back in the first slot to see if anything changes from how it used to perform before you swapped it to the other slot.

Beacuse if there is problem in motherboard I still have garancy from shop to repair ir.
It depends on if it is the MB or not, your above test results being the same as the original ones casts doubt as to whether or not it is the board or the GPU.

The fan on the GPU working more means that it is functioning better so is getting hotter, this again points towards the first PCI-E slot having issues so we will just have to wait how putting the GPU back in there goes.

I tested FUnMark and results are nearly same as when it was in x16. But ill try to put it back, maybe it was jsut bad connection, what will be best. But I dont think so, On monday ill call to servis, so they will check where is problem

Put the card back in the original slot and test, if just the same as before, put the card back in the second slot and test, if the card works better in the second slot post back and let us know.

I runned test for 10 mins before as a mistake, so temperatures are higher because of that.

PCI-E x4

PCI-E x16

Just started League of Legends on x16 and its working good, like before

For now, just use the computer as you would normally but avoid any short cut keys etc, if you do this wrong it can mess with settings so leave well alone until any hardware issues have been resolved.

Can I ask that you do not post multiple replies unless it is something urgent, I have to read every email notification and sometimes a couple of hundred a day, unimportant posts are not only unhelpful but also time consuming which means that others looking for help have to wait which winds me up.

Sorry, just tried playing on PCI-E x16 more gammes and its still bad and low FPS, so I will have to put it to x4. But there must be some problem, so I thnik some service should be best was, that they will find where is problem

On x16 its 80fps + but it still often drop to 20 or less and thats unplayable
