Problem with my Ethernet Connection

When you plug the cable into the desktop do you have a light on the desktop side and the router side?
MalwareBytes?
I did that, it did say successfully reset. Still no Internet after restarting.

I get a green light on the router end that correlates to the Ethernet port I plugged it into on there. On the computer end, I have a solid, larger orange light and a flickering green light
Do you know how to disable the firewall on the desktop
or do you need instructions

Only the windows security anti-virus, I think? I just ran a Quick Scan with that and it found no threats.
I am not to concerned with threats just yet.

Control panel
Windows defender firewall
Left hand side turn off
Then try ping again from laptop
ping 192.168.10.73

Okay, I turned off all three options available.
And I went back and set the manual again to .175, so I should ping that instead, right?

This is odd
On the desktop
go back to the network settings and make sure it is still 175
If it is
In the bottom section
make the first dns server
192.168.10.1
the alternate 8.8.8.8
save and ping again

I wasn't sure if the ping was meant to go to 192.168.10.175 or 192.168.10.1 so I did both.

Assuming that's a fail. I'll just, turn the router off and turn it on after giving it a minute, yes?
