How are your peak temps looking with the changes?

Is your performance any better?

Gigabyte Radeon RX 580 Gaming 8GB GDDR5
Corsair VS650 80 Plus 650W - Power supply

The PSU is complete junk, VS = Value Series and should not be used anywhere near an add on GPU, there are two versions with one being worse than the other, what colour is the label on yours, it needs to be replaced regardless of this and just wanting to know if you have the boom or the bang version.

CPU
AMD Ryzen 5 2600: 72 °C

The CPU is being fried, could be the PSU, could be the movement in the CPU cooler, could even be a combination of both.

Describe exactly what you mean by the below;

googled "AMD Ryzen 5 2600 fan" that is not the model that ussually appears. It that normal? Also, it moves a little if I touch it. Should it be completely fixed?

GPU: around 73ºC.
CPU: 79ºC.

Those are the max temps. Performance is better, yes, but I am still playing without lateral panels.

Hello, Phill. Thank you for your feedback. I don't know if the PSU is the bang or the boom version, to be honest. I don't remember if I kept the box, but in the invoice "Corsair VS650 80 Plus 650W" is the only information showing. I am attaching a picture of what I can see. Is that the label you mean? I'm also attaching a little video of the GPU fan moving just by gently touching it. Which PSU would you recommend for my PC?

Can I ask that you do not quote every reply as we have to read the full post to make sure nothing gets missed,, thanks.

Your PSU is the worst of the two and is in fact so bad that it was rated as – Tier F • Replace immediately

I don`t use rar but if it is the fan that you mean moves and not the actual heatsink atop of the CPU I misunderstood what you meant, the CPU is still being fried so something is seriously amiss.

The present PSU 100% needs replacing, ten year warranty and best value I could find Seasonic Focus-GX-550 550W 80 Plus Gold Modular

Hello, Phill. Sorry for the late reply and about the quoting. I guess I will have to replace the PSU. Thank you for the recommendation. In the m eantime, I will replace the thermal paste, just in case.

No worries.

In the m eantime, I will replace the thermal paste, just in case.

Good quality thermal compounds will when correctly applied most often last the lifetime of the computer and so never need replacing unless the heatsink gets disturbed or removed, short version, if you have not disturbed the heatsink on the CPU at all look at other possible causes of elevated temperatures, dust bunnies blocking the veins on the HS and the CPU being overvolted are two things that must get checked out first.

The PSU 100% needs to be replace so do that before messing with the heatsink and CPU, no harm can be done that way.
