Pc won't boot

so I started having an issue with my pc freezing yesterday and had been trying to do a system restore on it but it kept failing. Then last night after booting into Windows it froze again so I forced a shut down holding power for 5 seconds. I come back today to try and fix it but the pc will not boot. I started. Getting a message after the motherboard splash screen that said something along the lines of no boot device detected. So I went into the bios and my boot drive is being detected in there along with my storage drive and optical drive. I then made sure that the boot drive was set as the priority for booting and tried again. Still same message comes up. So I restarted and tried one more time only now I get no message just a black screen with a blinking cursor in the top left. If anyone can help me I would really appreciate it I just don't know what to do at this point.

Here are my system specs
Cpu: Intel i7 6700k
Gpu: 2 x zotac gets 980ti
Memory: 16 gb kingston hyper x ddr4 2133 MHz 2x8 gb sticks
Motherboard: asus z170-a
Boot drive: Samsung 850 evo 500 gb
Storage drive: western digital blue sshd 4 tb

Before this my pic was freezing up seemingly at random first time it happened I was watching a YouTube video when it stopped playing and kinda acted like it just wasn't buffering but then chrome became unresponsive and would close, so I tried to kill it with task manager then it froze as well followed by the rest of the system.

Hi Wyatt and welcome to PCHF :)

When you boot up there's absolutely nothing happenings besides a blinking cursor? That indicates there's no OS. If the hard drive is detected in the BIOS but not doing anything, it means the OS was wiped and it can not boot. What OS are you running?

Do you have a DVD/USB drive? You'll need a copy of Windows 10 as you have no OS on the hard drive.

I see you have 2 boot drives, a SSD and a regular HD. You ensured the SSD is the default boot device correct?

So I'm in the process of installing Windows and my ssd isn't showing up here only my 4tb hdd and what I'm guessing is the Windows usb as it only shows 128 mb of storage. So maybe my ssd went bad and that's why I'm having these issues.

Please boot your computer with Windows Setup Media and from Windows Recovery Environment start the Command Prompt.

Please type below commands into Command Prompt one at time and press Enter key.

Following command will fixes errors on the disk and locates bad sectors and recovers readable information.


Code: 
Bootrec /FixMbr

Bootrec  /FixBoot

Bootrec  /RebuildBcd

Chkdsk D: /f



Please replace partition letter D: with Windows installed partition letter. When computer boots into Windows Recovery Environment (WinRE) environment the drive letter assign to Windows partition may not be C: drive letter because Windows 7, 8 , 8.1 and 10 creates a separate system partition when it's installed from scratch. The system partition contains boot files WinRE assigns the system partition the C: drive letter and the Windows installed partition will be assign any other drive letter usually D: drive letter is assign to Windows installed partition. The Bcdedit /enum | find "osdevice" command can be use to find out the drive letter of the Windows installed partition the output of the Bcdedit command is similar to this osdevice partition=D:. The drive letter after partition= is the drive letter of the Windows partition.

So I've got a new ssd I want to try installing Windows on as nothing else is working. But for some reason now when powering on the system it sits at the motherboards splash screen for several minutes before moving on to the black screen with a blinking cursor. A minute after that it displays the message please insert boot media. How can I get it to load the windows installation.

I just tried this. I went into boot menu and selected the windows 10 media and it just leads me to the black screen with a cursor where it sits for a minute then it displays the message reboot and select proper boot device.
