Hey
So i've had this issue for quite some time and now that I am a Comp Sc student I really want to at least give it a try.
So it's simple, about 4 years ago, while playing, my Asus Rog GL553VD suddenly stopped working for no apparent reasons.
I sent it to a repairman who himself sent it to a welder. Sadly, they weren't able to fix it and told me to send it to a more specialized center in Bruxelles (Belgium).
I never did because after emailing the specialized center they told they didn't work on these devices anymore.
In other words, I had no way to repair my computer...
So I tried opening my computer myself to first collect my ssd and hardrive and put it on my other pc but mainly to find out if there wasn't anything suspicious inside it. Yeah I was a bit optimistic but guess what! I didn't find anything aha.
I just realized a weird little clicking sound whenever I tried turning on the pc with the charger in. I also saw a part where it seems a bit weird.
Here are some pictures:
And the little weird thing I found:
Sorry for the quality, I know you won't be able to find out anything from them but at least you see the general scene aha.
Here are some other info:
- When charger in no light shows
- We tried replacing the cable between the power button and the motherboard, didn't work
- The clicking sound is active whenever the charger is in and the power button has been pressed. I also just heard right now that when I am really close to the motherboard I can hear a weird scratch sound coming from the part of the last photo. We might have a clue here!
If you have any way on how to fix it, I would be really grateful. I also know that replacing the motherboard might be the best solution but it costs a lot...
Thanks!
GaecKo
