Hello! Recently i have built a computer, and when i boot it, it works perfectly fine, except that it beeps once. I tried to turn of "Boot Beep" in BIOS, but it didn't work.

I am thinking about CMOS Reset or maybe BIOS Update.

Any tips whats wrong or what should i do?

That beep is a signal that the P.O.S.T. (Power On Self Test) completed and was normal/passed.

If your BIOS has a Quiet Boot selection and you want to turn the beep off, change this to Enabled.
Hi, thanks for replying, there no "Quiet Boot" option. The motherboard is an ASROCK b760 pro rs/d4 if this changes anything

Is there a small, round black speaker connected to the SPK_PLED1 header pins in the bottom right corner of the motherboard?

@Bruce
This is where I got the manual.

pg. 32 of the manual I am looking at.

No you are not losing it. 😊

My 2 cents worth
Why do you want to turn off the beep?
It is what the computer is supposed to do.
If you turn it off/disable it now it will make any future trouble shooting harder.

Hi, Thanks for your answers, tommorow i keep you updated with my tryings 🙂
@PeterOz i want to fix this 'problem' not just turning off, thats why i am asking. I tried turning it off first because i saw some day earlier (when i was in BIOS for smth) that it's actually turned off. I got curious. I hope this explains.

What is this setting called?

I finally found it. Its called Boot Beep. You have to be in Advance Mode>Boot Tab> halfway down the page is Boot Beep. If you have not, set it to disabled.
If you've done this, I'm out of ideas.

@PeterOz sry i worded it wrong. I was just curious, bc one day i was in BIOS for idk what reason, then i randomly saw 'boot beep' 'off' (like, it was alr off) and my pc still beeped. so i got worried.

Anyway, i wanted to try what xrob sent (unplugging the SPK) but there isn't anything plugged in there. Any ideas?

Possibly because you never saved the new setting in the BIOS before you exited it.

I am with those that say leave well alone, you can power up and go about your business until you hear the all good beep and then get straight down to work - gaming or whatever else it is that you want to be doing.

That is quite normal, they cost pennies but because they sell millions of MBs the pennies add up to millions so they don`t put speakers on to save themselves some cash, the likes of Dell and HP etc still put speakers on many of their prebuilt computers.

Strange, really not sure how you are getting a BIOS beep when there is no BIOS speaker attached to the MB.

Can you take a picture of the back of the MB in the left hand corner, this would be below the rear ports on the MB when the case is upright.
