Hello everybody,
I've had a strange issue recently, where I would pause a youtube video or even go to the youtube homepage, close the lid of my laptop and come back some time later to some random video playing. It doesn't seem to make a difference wether the browser window is open or minimized, but when Youtube is open, I'm almost certain to have some video playing. It really annoys me, since this sometimes happens at night waking me up or draining all my battery in the process. The compuer I'm having this trouble on is fairly new (3-4 months) and is running Windows 10. I don't know if it has something to do with the problem, but it is a convertible laptop and can therefore also be used as a tablet PC. I hope someone can help me out here.

P.S.: Noobalert: I want to apologize in advance for any formatting, grammar or other errors.

Hello

When is the last time you did a malware scan?
I'm running Windows Defender quite frequently and I'm doing another check right now. I also forgot to mention that I have a remote control software installed, but I'm unsure how that could have been the culprit as I wasn't using it at the time (It was running, but I wasn't connected to any other device)

You can also make sure that you have Autoplay disabled. It is at the top right of your screen on Youtube site.

You can also install Ublock Origin and once installed you can right click on the Autoplay and select block element from Ublocks settings.

Then select create, this will create a rule in Ublock that will disable Auto Play permanently.

I think that it is autoplay which is causing the issue. But these steps will optimize your internet, so go through them and then let us know how your issue turns out.

Reset Internet Settings.

Download and unzip internet Flush.zip to your desktop right click it run as Administrator. Reboot the machine to apply the settings.

Hit enter after each command below.

Disable useless items.

Download easy service optmizer, save it to your desktop and unzip it there. Right click it and run as admin, then select tweaked at the bottom. Then click on the rocket, this will turn off a lot of useless items.

You will however need to change one setting. Right Click on Wlansvc — WLAN AutoConfig, then select start service, the edit service. Make sure it is automatic across the board, as per the picture.

Disable Computer Browser Service.

1. Press the Windows + R key at the same time, a Run Window will appear

3. Scroll to the Computer Browser Service
4. Right-Click Computer Browser Service and choose Stop the service.
5. Right Click Computer Browser Service again select Properties.
6. Change the Startup type to disabled.

7. Hit Apply then Ok.

Repeat the same above to disable the Iphelper Service. Also the DNS Client Service.

Disable net bios over tcpip.

Windows key & r at the same time.
