Having trouble with Youtube on my Win 10 laptop

Status
Not open for further replies.
Hello everybody,
I've had a strange issue recently, where I would pause a youtube video or even go to the youtube homepage, close the lid of my laptop and come back some time later to some random video playing. It doesn't seem to make a difference wether the browser window is open or minimized, but when Youtube is open, I'm almost certain to have some video playing. It really annoys me, since this sometimes happens at night waking me up or draining all my battery in the process. The compuer I'm having this trouble on is fairly new (3-4 months) and is running Windows 10. I don't know if it has something to do with the problem, but it is a convertible laptop and can therefore also be used as a tablet PC. I hope someone can help me out here.

P.S.: Noobalert: I want to apologize in advance for any formatting, grammar or other errors.

Hello

When is the last time you did a malware scan?
I'm running Windows Defender quite frequently and I'm doing another check right now. I also forgot to mention that I have a remote control software installed, but I'm unsure how that could have been the culprit as I wasn't using it at the time (It was running, but I wasn't connected to any other device)
