Program opening problem - previous help given

    Hi all

I was on here last month with connection problems which one of your members (Malnutrion) very kindly helped me with.

Now it has gotten worse and led to further problems.

So I haven’t installed any further anti virus or firewall after it was discovered that this was the reason I had problems, not sure if this in itself is a problem.

But basically the same thing happened, I started having problems getting into gaming apps and sites (exact same as before) and in the last 24 hours I have tried to see what I can do myself, without taking drastic action and removing anything significant.

I do feel there is a serious problem though, something doesnt feel right.
    1. Last night I removed files from my C drive - increasing space to I am sure around 5Gb. Today that space has been reduced to just over 1Gb.
    2. Certain apps are still showing under add/remove and no matter what I do, they don’t delete - Epic games/call of duty as examples
    3. AVG tune up wasn’t deleted last time around so I thought that this maybe have something to do with it, this didnt show in add/remove so I had to download AVG uninstall tool do to it
    4. After reset - this is where I am now panicking because my steam gaming account shortcut isnt opening - despite the files still being present, other desktop shortcuts are working but not anything related to steam.

So yeah, I need help if possible please

Okay - so to whoever looks at this, I done a bit of research into .exe file via short cuts on desktop and I found a video that said run reg edit - save back up - and go to the following directory - I couldnt see the final window he spoke of but there was one for steam and within that I just had a look and lo and behold something within that was a debugger file for none other than AVG tune up … why ??? So I know one has nothing to do with the other so I deleted the file, restarted and Steam works. But there are still many problems with my PC

      Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Win dows NT\CurrentVersion\Image File Execution Options\steam.exe

[HEADING=3]Can you Download and run and then post. Speccy - Free Download
To publish a Speccy profile to the Web:[/HEADING]
[HEADING=3]In Speccy, click File, and then click Publish Snapshot.[/HEADING]
In the Publish Snapshot dialog box, click Yes to enable Speccy to proceed.

Speccy publishes the profile and displays a second Publish Snapshot dialog box. You can open the URL in your default browser, copy it to the clipboard, or close the dialog box.

The last part of each URL is randomized, so only people you provide with the URL will be able to find your profile.

The information given in Speccy cannot be used by anyone to hack your system

Could you also include the power supply specs E.g Cooler Master 850W Gold V2 NOT E.g 850w

          Hi Peter

Thank you. Done all that but I can’t publish the snapshot as I have random internet problems when programs are trying to access it, steam store, microsoft store and now speccy being examples. I have saved a snapshot to my desktop, I am not sure if you want me to send you this though?

Hi Peter - I can access the internet but with some programs such as Steam where it also access the store page or adverts, this doesnt work. And as I have just found out when trying to use Speccy - it wont let me save the snapshot online. I will try it in safe mode anyway and let you know.

Hi Peter - no, I had no connectivity while in safe mode (I didnt actually realise you did in safe mode).

I tried again while in normal boot mode to publish snap shot and it didnt work. Do you want me to upload the .txt file?

Lets run a Mini Tool Box and see if it pulls the information.

Download MiniToolBox and save the file to the Desktop. Right click on the file and select Run as Admin

Close the browser and run the tool, check the following options.

                  Select all

                  Click on Go.

copy and paste the contents of the file called MTB.txt or attach the file to your next post.

In the meantime also run a SFC

I’ve attached the MTB file for you.

When I tried to run the Restore Health command, it wouldnt let me because “There is not enough space on the disk”.

Regarding my hard drive, let person I bought the laptop from obviously thought it would make sense to partition my the drive into 1 with 117gb and 1 into 910gb lol - I’ve tried to create space but I cant make anymore.

The problem is not enough space that’s what the reports show.
All you need to do is merge the drive into larger partitions.
                        try 5000 and 500
Want to merge partitions without losing data in Windows 10/8/7? Use the professional partition tool to combine two partitions effectively now.

                            500gb for c and 500 for d
or make c all the drive
