I have noticed that my display is a bit sluggish. I’ve tried changing the resolution, refresh rates. Even changed settings on my tv, hrd mode off etc. Its a new samsung 4k uhd smart tv 40" tv that I just recently got. It was fine with my previous machine.
Now I think it could be down 2 reasons, the first thing I noticed is that the driver for intel 630 doesn’t work on windows 7 x64 even though intel has one for it which I tried. When I try to install it then it brought up an error “This computer does not meet the minimum system requirements” , which was really strange. I tried it a couple times but the result was the same. So I went and checked intel website again and can see there is an * next to windows7/8 so I scrolled down and seen the list and it only went upto model 620, mine wasnt listed. “D’oh!”
So the driver that I did manage to install and get working was through the MSI Live update app which listed it as a BETA driver. So its possible it could be a driver issue.
I also came across another post elsewhere during my search where someone mentioned that a new kaby lake system wont run well in windows 7 and you have to install windows 10. He also said that there is no graphics driver for the intel 630 for windows 7.
I’m guessing I may need to ditch windows 7 and give windows 10 a try?
Im struggling to find what else it could be. I’ve even been into the bios and tried to tweak settings, give the gpu more system memory by another 500mb but that didnt do nothing. It feels like its holding my system back. Even watching videos, typing , browsing its just not smooth. I dont know how best to describe it. My system boots up fast and everything is working fine but the display is kinda slow, sluggish. Like theres a heavy layer.
Also a couple times my firefox browser has crashed whilst I was just browsing no downloads just checking videos on my facebook and searching for things on google, and both times it happened out of nowhere the screen would start to kind scramble then if I moved the mouse then it go away but then it would sometimes back again within a few seconds. Was very wierd. Buggy graphics driver perhaps?
I havent overclocked or tuned anything on my system. Everything is at default. I changed the graphics system memory back to default.
Any advice or help would be most appreciated
Thanks
