    Thanks for all your help,
Unfortunately I probably won’t be able to get windows for a few weeks (I’m away from Tuesday, very sorry), however I can probably fix the autoupdate within the next few days, should I send a Speccy report after doing this?

Out of interest have you any idea what the actual trigger for this is, the time between restarts and cause of restarts are completely random or at least it seems that way. I’d originally assumed it was some form of system scan that tried to process some damaged OS files, thus causing a system failure, and/or bad RAM installation which meant the RAM kept coming loose since I had a problem with the RAM beforehand (Would boot for 1-2 seconds before starting again continuously. Cleaned RAM module and it fixed it.)

As well as this, I’d like to ask advice in terms of purchasing Windows 10. After building the rig I haven’t exactly had a ton of cash lying around, which contributes as to why I don’t own Windows yet. Not being particularly motivated to dish out £100 for the OS from Microsoft, I looked for alternatives and found this: Digitale Oplossingen: Licenties voor Slimme ICT-strategieën
    Would you trust this?
Sorry for being such a cheapskate…

As previously advised in my replies #13 and 15, we need to see an updated Speccy url showing that Windows is fully up to date and preferably with the AutoUpdate enabled.

As to what has triggered the restarts, it would be pure speculation at the moment but two possible causes have been identified, Windows not being fully up to date and activated and Avast causing conflicts.

Up to now to we are still waiting on an updated Speccy url, do not know whether or not Avast has been correctly uninstalled or if you have any more restarts, we need accurate up to date information to best be able to help.

Not sure about the site at your link but don`t blame anyone trying to save cash but only as long as the purchase is legit, read the reviews at your link then make your decision.

You may be allowed to use Windows 10 and receive updates for a period of 90 days before you must enter a legitimate product key after which you will then be locked out from Windows.

Your updated Speccy url shows that you have not uninstalled Avast as was recommended and we have not been advised of any further restarts, from this point I will ask a more senior member of staff who carries more weight to take a look at your thread.

            Good luck.

There have been many restarts since the last post. It shows Windows defender as disabled and avast being the primary antivirus running instead, which seems fine to me. I’ll try get back to you once I have purchased Windows 10.
              Thank you

I am afraid that because W10 is not activated, it’s causing most of the problems you are experiencing. W10 released several updates, most notable the October 2018 and November 2018 updates, which could alleviate your issues but because W10 is not activated you won’t be able to receive these updates

We await to hear your W10 is activated so we can better assist you. Unfortunately we are at a standstill without a clean install at this point

Understood, sorry about this. I’ll try find the time in the next few days, but if not it’s going to have to be after Christmas or early January. Once again, sorry.

Sorry I’m still away. I’ll be back in time for new year.
The few days before I left I barely had any problems at all if that helps at all, all I was doing was file transfering between the pc and a device.

Okay, here we go, I cannot express my gratitude for your patience on this problem which is 99% chance going to be a user incompetence issue.
I have activated Windows 10 and here is the updated Speccy: http://speccy.piriform.com/results/e...cWeOCY85sifWoI

It just restarted again, problem possibly isn’t solved. Not entirely sure anymore…

I’ll tag @phillpower2 but in the meantime, can you grab some logs?

Please download the Sysnative BSOD Dump + System File Collection App - save to Documents folder.

Run the app - Double-click on the downloaded EXE file
Output = new folder created in Documents + a zipped version – SysnativeFileCollectionApp folder + SysnativeFileCollectionApp.zip.

Please note that the app averages ~3 minutes to run on most systems; other systems - it my take as long as 10-15 minutes to run. Please be patient.

Also note: The app auto-zips the SysnativeFileCollectionApp output folder. It is located in your Documents folder.
Windows Explorer should open and highlight the zipped folder

Please attach the SysnativeFileCollectionApp.zip to your post and await further instructions
