    OK!
    SO.
I reformatted the SSD where the OS used to be, so it erased the drive and it now allows me to render onto it. It’s also significantly faster!
I think the problem is solved.
Thanks for your time, and if there’s anything else you’d like to add, i’d be happy to listen.

If the os is on nvme do 1 file to nvme and same file to ssd just as a test.
Also check HDD with Crystal Disk Info Standard edition - Free Click on me
      You can install java again.

Tried doing it to NVMe, slower than to SSD.

        Crystal results:

          That looks ok.
How old id the HDD ? Do you backup the HDD
Don’t forget all drives HDD SSD and NVME fail.
If you are getting a squeak from the hdd it might be time to save for a replacement ssd.

read error rate and seek error rate doesn’t look good to me.

these values are determined by the drive manufacture and can be non critical initially.
they become much more critical if the value changes over time, but SMART doesn’t record when the first change occurred and doesn’t log those changes.

I see. I’ll back up files more frequently now.
I’ll get a new HDD sooner or later.

SSD might be better. No moving parts.
