SO.
I reformatted the SSD where the OS used to be, so it erased the drive and it now allows me to render onto it. It’s also significantly faster!
I think the problem is solved.

If the os is on nvme do 1 file to nvme and same file to ssd just as a test.

You can install java again.
That looks ok.
How old id the HDD ? Do you backup the HDD
Don’t forget all drives HDD SSD and NVME fail.
If you are getting a squeak from the hdd it might be time to save for a replacement ssd.

I see. I’ll back up files more frequently now.
