6TB WD Black HDD Security Frozen

I ran Dashboard for WD HDD, It says Security Frozen. I was wondering what this meant, I have done some research, but found all the answers confusing. The drive has been freezing my PC from time to time which is why I ran the dashboard software in the first place, I don’t want to throw the HDD away if it is something else that is causing the random crashes.

Have you ever set a password on the drive or enabled encryption?

The freezing probably doesn’t have anything to do with the :Security Frozen" state.

Download this app and post a screenshot of its results please. If you have more than one drive, make sure the WD drive is selected when you take the screenshot.

SSD frozen state is designed for protection. It ensures that nobody can alter your drive settings, like putting a password on it to hijack your SSD or wiping important files on that drive.

The drive looks good. You have nothing to worry about.

Thanx for the help; it’s just that my system freezes sometimes when the WD HDD is working. I unplugged it for a time and the random freezing stopped, I was using 7z to zip a large file on the HDD and the PC froze again, I had youtube open at the time listening to some music and could here the same note repeating over and over when windows became stuck.

Yes, I was trying to determine if there was an obvious issue with the drive itself.

Just to make sure, we are talking about the drive in the screenshot?

When you say unplugged, you mean from the motherboard not a USB plug?

I have a SSD for my Windows 10 OS drive, and a 1TB SSD for games. I unplugged the WD HDD drive via its sata and power cables. It is indeed the drive in the screen shot I am refering to that has the random crashes.
The system crashed when using 7z to zip a large file the other day there, and when I used X-plane 11 in the past, I had all my flight sim scenery files on that disk. It didn’t crash much, but enough to cause me some concern. I did a full format on the WD HDD and run the WD diagnostic tool, everything seems fine according to the report.

Would putting up screens of the other drives be fruitful?

Could I see this report please?

Thank you for your answers and I’m sorry for the questions, I just want to make sure I understand what’s happening.

I am heading home from work, picking up kids, etc. I won’t be back online until much later or tomorrow. Somone else may chime in before then.

The 480 Kingston SSD is the OS; the other 1TB SSD contains my Steam Games.
