I haven’t used Speccy in ages; forgot all about it. Hope I followed your instructions correctly.

Do me a favor, uninstall Avast using this tool, please. Reboot. You can re-install it later if you choose.

Windows Defender has been for years now, a very robust and adequate AV solution. It’s integrated into the OS and thus uses very little resources. I’ve used it alone on multiple (15+) systems I’m responsible for at home and work.

        As well as uninstalling Avast
Change your power from high performance to balanced.
High performance is for laptops with a discrete video card.
It can cause instability in a pc

Thanx, removed the anti virus; I have been getting more frustrated with Avast over the last two years, glad to be rid of it.

Well, copying items to WD Black HDD, and the sound on a video I was watching at the time on youtube did that stutter again, as if the PC is pausing intermittently for a few seconds then goes back to normal, this doesn’t happen unless I have the WD Black HDD connected to the Mobo. Don’t know if I should just get rid of it.

Did you change your power plan from High Performance to Balanced like @PeterOz suggested?

If you have another HDD to test, that could reveal a culprit.

Also, post a fresh Speccy report, please.

There is only 1 HDD in the system. Changed to balanced as suggested to.

My PSU is an EVGA Supernova 1600W T2 80+Titanium PSU. I also noted that the PSU power usage is very high when using 7z, that’s what crashed it the other day; not sure if that has any significance, but seems rather high.

What should I do after I unplug any USB ports? Should I just let the PC run?

Speccy shows you have usb drives plugged into the usb ports.
unplug them and use the 6tb and see if problem persists.
