Yeah I’ve downloaded that just there. Bit lost here what should I be doing?

I`m afraid that because you have both the computer and the software you need to find out for yourself but the intention is for you to use the software to try and control the fan/s to see if you can slow them down so that they are not too noisy but at the same time not that much that the temps rise.Comment
-
Okay I’ll have a play about with that thank you. One last thing, I’ve taken the heat sink off again and it has these like lines through it. Would that affect the paste and maybe stop it from working properly? No idea what’s caused these linesComment
-
Are those lines in the actual surface of the heatsink or in paste that is still stuck to the face of the HS, if in the face of the HS itself it needs to be replaced, even the slightest scratch and the HS is useless.Comment
-
They’re in the actual surface of the heatsink like in the actual metal. Can’t be good. Sorry for the slow replies been busy past couple of days.
New heatsink as well then to add to the list? :ROFLMAO:Comment
-
Aye new HS required I`m afraid, get a good one and you will get decent thermal compound pre applied.
Those lines look like someone has tried to clean the mating surface on something like fine emery paper.
No worry about the delay in replies, drop us a line every couple of days and we know that you are still around and haven’t abandoned your thread.Comment

What one would you recommend for my system because as you can imagine I don’t have a scoob what is good and what is not.Comment

1: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO Has a proven track record for reliability, performance and not being overly loud because of it`s variable speed, quite tall so check you have room in the case.
2: ThermalTake UX100 ARGB Less expensive, not too tall, looks nice if that[ICODE]ts your thing but you could find that it[/ICODE]s a bit too noisy for you at 1800rpm and 26.92 dB.
Fwiw, the CM would be my choice of the two if I had to choose.
Edit to add: Sack the Thermaltake, just read a review and the chap wasn`t too happy when he found out that it is only really meant for CPUs up to 65W, the Cryorig M9 Plus Single Tower here is good for up tp 130W, your CPU in case not aware is 125WComment

Sounds like a plan (y)
Btw, does the top of the CPU look ok, if that is also damaged replacing the HS is unlikely to resolve the issue, can I also ask how and what you previously used to clean off the old thermal compound, it needs to be something like acetone or 90% pure alcohol so that when everything is clean the cleaning agent itself 100% evaporates and does not leave any traces behind.Comment
-
Yeah the top of the CPU seemed totally fine.
I used some nail polish remover as I seen people suggesting it online and it was the only thing usable that I have.Comment
-
As long as the nail polish remover was acetone based it should be fine, good news that the top of the CPU is ok.Comment

Well that’s it installed and running. Played a full game of Valorant and it was vert quiet and the temp stayed around 42 degrees
I got an error which said something like: Bad Image. Windows\system\64aticfx64 for Valorant which caused my PC to randomly reboot but I got rid of that and the entire game ran smooth as butter. Think that must have just been an error in the installation. Hopefully have no more problems but I’m sure I willComment

Great news and thank you for letting us know that all is now well with the computer
You know where we are should you have any computer problems in the future (y)Comment
