    Save as doc not showing

    Hi Guys
When I compose a doc in Open Office, then do a β€œsave as” to desktop, as an odt file, it does not appear in desktop, BUT, it shows on the save as page?

Sorry but I don’t use open office so my answers may be generic.
If you refresh the desktop does the doc appear?
If you save to another folder does the file appear?
If you save as another file type does the doc show?

I saved it as a rtf and that did not work and if I tried to drag the mouse arrow down from the right corner of the desktop, nothing happens.

            Thank you frenchman96.
Can you post the outcome of those other questions please.
Dragging the mouse cursor to the right corner should show the desktop but not when viewing the desktop. if you have another app/program open does the problem occur?
If you right click on the desktop then refresh should be an option.

Can you save to the desktop using a different program?

              F5 is correct
Right click on a empty space if the desktop and select refresh

One other place I can think of is.
                Right Click on the Desktop
                Hover over View
See if show Desktop Icons is selected.

I managed the icons to suit me, and funny enough, I have just done a new doc in Wordpad, saved to the desktop as a RTF file, and that is not showing on desktop

You only have the one screen correct.

I have to agree with Bastet that they could very well be hiding off screen.

yes, one screen, and I have used it this way and arranged icons this way for many, many years.

As you can see, I keep my pc very simplified, and I do disk clean regularly, empty mail often, delete unwanted pics often
