running 3d mark now, flamestrike, its playing demo before it runs tests. Lot of flickering just generally a bad display but not freezing or crashing, I woul dhave thought that crossfire is better, But it seems I might be better off placing second card in wifes pc and just running one card, will keep testing and posting, maybe this will help someone else someday. It is in the actual tests now and cleaned up a bit hitting 80C on primary gpu and 67C on secondary

Take one card out, leave the other in, and bechmark again. You might be generating too much heat with your Crossfire configuration. And yes please advise on EventViewer events.

Have you tried using the system in Safe Mode with Networking?

If works there then there may be some thing that is running in Normal that we need to look at.

ok, re booted, ran furmark. Preset 720 system kill as soon as I hit go. Im thinking thats a power issue? Heat is definately a factor here, as disabling the extra fan seems to have helped, but I am also thinking I am having a problem with being in cross fire. I can probably disable crossfire and run just fine, but I dont know about you, the techy in me wants to know WHY.

Am I living in yesteryear thinking I need two GPU’s? On the other hand, This is some decent hardware I think, and I believe there is enough power here that this system should be spinning like a top, on the other hand, im the one that needs the help so what do I know? ROFL

Would the heat from crossfire be INSTANT? like as soon as I click go , I might as well have pulled the plug from the wall.

Hi Rustys, thanks for chimming in, I can use all the help I can get! I will try msconfig and select boot min with net and see what happens,

and let me check event viewer right quick (thats southern for real fast grins)

Just a little tip: PSU amperage is more important that wattage. Each rail on a PSU provides X amount of power, and if you overload the rail, it’ll reboot to save itself. Have you tried one card on one rail and the other on another?

PSU is modulating. THere are seperate ports on the back of it. I haved one power cable from one pci port on psu to gpu. I believe gpu is 8pin + 6 pin. Nothing else is powered on that cable. Same for other card, one port one cable one card. Amps hunh? Maybe i need a capacitor to kick the card motors from Locked Rotor draw LOL JK

on a side note, does anyone else have trouble logging back into site? on the other computer, it isnt letting me log in, so I can post event logs. I could transfer them to this one with a flash drive, but I had them both up a little while ago, ok gettng side tracked…

booted in safe mode, it appears in safe mode it sets the gpu to microsoft basic display driver, so i can not test from here…

Boot from the https port is light years over my head!

                            Booting from https? Interesting

PCHF is designed to be logged into via our HTTPS protocol, https://www.pchelpforum.net . Normal HTTP protocol access can render inability to login

Was trying to post event logs Rustys. I dont know if those are readable. THere was an entry there for error involving the framework of wondershare, a video editing software I use. Can a software conflict cause I shut down like that? I am just asking, feel free to tell me to shut up so y’all can think LOL

Yes booting from https, its the hot new thing (LIE)
