First, Let me thank you for taking time to read about my issue. I appreciate that, a lot. I hope you can help me help myself thru this. Again, Thank you, I really cant say that enough.
I am a โbuddingโ PC enthusiast, really just cutting my teeth. I wanted to build a new PC. In classic Papa D manor, I donโt think I did enough research. Although according to pc parts picker, all my new components are compatible. Let me share with you this new build.
Case: NZXT H630
MOBO: Gigabyte Z170 LGA 1151 Gaming G1
CPU:Intel Core i7-6700K 8M skylake Quad-Core 4.0 ghz
Ram: 4 x 8 GB 288 pin DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 3400 (PC4 27200) G.Skill Ripjaws V series (32 gb total)
SSD: Samsung 950 Pro M.2 512GB
HDD: WD Purple 6TB surveillance
CPU Cooler: NZXT kraken x61 280mm
PSU: Rosewill Quark-1000 80 Plus Platinum
GPU: GIgabyte radeon r9 390 G1
So, basically. I built the PC. Installed WIn 7 from disk I had, and upgraded to WIN 10. I have installed all updates. I have q flashed bios to the latest version. I believe chipset drivers and all others are up to date.
I had noticed pixilization ( i do not know the proper term) during what i would consider normal tasks. I do run two monitors. I play Ultima Online, which is not very graphic intensive. I think that this system should run it very smoothly. The lock ups and hiccups lead me to look into it further.
I read alot of forums, and downloaded furmark. When I attempt to run it, my system immediately re boots. I was getting time out errors in event viewer. I added two reg entries, to set a value of 10 for the time out (extreme?) I am still having trouble running furmark. I thought perhaps it was a conflict with furmark. At the advice of a friend I downloaded futuremark. I have been running the firestrike test. More often then not I freeze in the demo. I rarely make it to the end of the test. When i do I get a decent score. It isnt consistent though.
I used DDU in safe mode, un installed all AMD drivers. Re installed, several times, with several methods. Their detection software, maually, etc. I have enabled crossfire in catalyst. and set a frame rate max at 80. I am still experiencing problems.
Any hope that someone can help me to decipher the warnings and errors in event viewer to trouble shoot this and kill it dead? I woul dbe so grateful for even a little direction. I have honestly tried to resolve this myself. But I have reached a point where I feel that I am going in circles, a flopping fish LOL.
I have NOT manually check power supply with a meter. I have swap cards, slots, power cables, and outlets on PSU (modulating) with same results.
Sorry for long post, really just trying to give as much info as possible. I can post logs if someone is willing to take the time to help me know how to get them.
Thank you again for taking time to read this, in the meantime I will keep googlingโฆ
