If you want to buy everything from OWC
Buy that one I have one of them with macos on it.
It works well - no issues so-far

Should be.
If you want to test things first you can turn the current ssd you have into a mac external operating system
and boot from that.

I am just going to buy the parts. I am having tough time deciding on SSD. are they all pretty much made at the same factories?

I suggest that you test now to make sure you are able to do internet recovery of the OS before your things arrive.
It should only take an hour or so depending on internet speed.
encase we have to prepare a bootable usb stick via ubuntu.
It will save time in the long run.
But it is up to you.

Really they are both similar to one another.
I use the Samsung in one of my pc’s
I use the OWC as a mac drive

I had already took the computer down. I ordered the parts but might not do it for a couple months
