Alright guys,
I am trying to setup a wifi repeater. I have done this in the past many times and it used to be a piece of cake but now as time has moved on a lot of brands have put restrictions as some of you may know, so sometimes its not so easy nowadays.
I have a BT Wifi station N600 and a Netgear D6400 router. There are a few dead spots in the house and I get nagged about it at times. Today I decided to blow off the dust that was gathering on this bt wifi station as we had stopped using it when I got the new netgear router setup.
Now I can access the bt station , I have tried changing the SSID, channels etc but it just doesn't show up even when I am in the same room as the station. The station is connected via Ethernet as the whole house was already wired up from previous owners. This big room is adjacent to the living room where the netgear router is, so it is puzzling as to why the signal drops out or wifi connection runs slow considering its not far from the room where the router is.
Anyhow I am just wondering, is this station gone dud? or do I need to buy a specific netgear wifi booster? Any other altnernatives to help please?

thanks

Sorry if I have missed any details out, please ask and ill reply back.

its okay, problem solved.
It turned out its my phone (well isn't really my phone, its borrowed) , im learning new problems about it every day lol Will be giving this back this week.

As for the signal, its being picked up on other devices perfectly fine and working. Here I was getting stressed out for nothing.
