Solved Random freezing

Chrome loads on boot so the high memory use could still be present but remember that it is your PSU that is suspect atm.
 
Further supports the PSU being the cause in some way but did you check to see what the memory usage was both when you have tabs open and straight from boot with no tabs open.
 
It is alright I think. Atm it has 600 mb and I have quite a lot of tabs opened.

I think I might buy me a new PSU when I get my salary. I have this one quite a lot of years anyway, and buying a stronger one is never a bad thing. Maybe that will fix my issue.
 
So now I really think I am cursed. All I wanted was to play a lil bit today cause I got a free day from work, but now my video card is playing with me.

Please help me, I have no idea what is going on and might be related to the freezing issue I also have.

I went to Nvidia Geforce Experience to update the GPU. After having it download the update, it started the update and when it got to "installing" the video card, after the monitor went black and then back to normal, a windows window appeared asking me to restart the PC for the new changes, I ignored it since I could not do it while the video card was installing. Then a window appeared in the right corner telling me to click to "FORCE REINSTALL VIDEO CARD" also from windows. Also ignored it. The update finished and then I clicked finish or done or whatever, but nvidia geforce was still telling me to update the video card. I restarted the PC and got the surprise that while loading the windows l I ONCE AGAIN FOR 101919W9 TIME got freeze. Restarted PC from button and after that, I again got a freeze whole loading the windows, but now a freeze that lasts some seconds and then the circle of loading windows works again. ->

Got the surprise to see everything big, like when your video card is not installed at all. Went to device manager and saw a "!" next to my card. Clicked properties and it said there that it needs a restart for it to work. Restarted. Saw the temporarly freeze while loading windows again. Everything is still big, device manager still with "!", but now says that the card has errors or something. Geforce Experience still tells me to update the card. Tried updating it again from there, the exact same story. Tried updating it from device manager, it says it is up to date. Tried searching through windows updates, nothing found. So I downloaded DDU and fully uninstalled the card in safe mode. Went and downloaded the driver and installed it and the same thing happens!! But now when I searched through windows updates it found a driver from 2017 and went and installed it to get THIS ->

Restarted the PC and to my surprise it worked now and I had version 388 or smthn, and went to try to update it to 397 or whatever the last version was. Got the exact same story with the windows pop up and everything from before, and tried again everything the same way like before with the same results, only that now not even windows updates find anything. I went to the device manager to try now to uninstall it from there and after I clicked I got this ->

And now I am stuck with this issue. It freezes temporarly while windows is loading up, can't update the card, can't install it after completely uninstalling it, can't do nothing... Also, what if the freeze is from the video card? I am no specialist and not that good with this stuff, but I am out of ideas how to update my video card and how to stop the freezes. What if the freezes are from a drive? But that can't be true. Since I reinstalled the windows and it did the freeze before and after the reinstall. And it did the freeze even while booting to install the windows and while installing it. It must be a hardware issue, so what if it is the video card? But more inportantly, I reallg gotta get rid of this driver issue. Any ideas? I appreciate a lot your help!

One problem solved then.

Tip, create a new system restore point for the now stable settings and steer clear of updating any drivers unless they are intended to fix the particular issue that you may be having, newer is not always better and if it "aint broke dont fix it" see info here

What PSU do you recommend me? I also don't really know how strong it should be. I have written the specs in the first post.
 
Do you have a link to from where you will most likely make the purchase, no point in us suggesting a PSU that may not be available in your country.

Having the amount of storage devices and the GPU that you do I would suggest a quality brand Gold rated 600/650W PSU.

Before making any purchase of new parts I always suggest two things be done if possible, have the original component properly tested and/or try swapping in a known good like for like component to see if that works as it should, this helps to avoid possibly purchasing something but still having the same problem afterwards.

Got to go out so need to be quick, of the four only the EVGA brand, if the budget is tight and you cannot afford a Gold rated PSU the Seasonic here would be my suggestion before Cooler Master or Thermaltake.
 
I'm waiting to receive my money and then I'll either tale the PC to a Repair shop or I'll just buy a new PSU.

In the meantime, the freezes are still the same. Nearly everyday.
 
Apologies for the late reply, had my own disaster to take care, someone driving into the side of my car to be exact :)

Having a local tech store test your computer is the best option, many will do this for free but some charge a small fee so check with them first, if you tell them that the PSU is the suspected cause and it turns out to be the case they should waive any testing costs if you are willing to purchase a new PSU from them.
 
I'm sorry to hear that.

So, yesterday I took the PC from the repair shop. They also said that the PSU is the cause. But unfortunately this month and the next one I won't be able to buy a new one, so it had to br after that. At least I now know for sure what to buy. I'll most likely update this topic after I change the PSU and then update it again after a week or two to say if I got any more freeze issues.

I thank you all for all the help and support so far, we'll most likely "see" us in 1 and half months. XD
