Saved game files, thats all I want to make sure that I have access to.

Anything else is browser related stuff that I can easily back up.

I haven't used a backup in years, so I am quite rusty on this.

Okay, I am using the steam backup program to save what I need on the flash drive, anything else I can download from scratch.

Apologies for the multiple posts.

I would copy the saved games files to external.
When you reinstall windows and then reinstall games then copy saved game files back, will the work.
I honestly do not know.
I do not game

Once I recreate windows - will I lose whatever is on the flash drive? E.G. what I am currently backing up from steam?

Had to go out and get another flash drive, so I am backing up etc just now. Not sure how long this will take and I follow your instructions.

don't forget about deleting the partitions.
Remember this will delete all data on the hard drive
Do you have the web site to down load your drivers.
AFTER the window usb is made you can put a new folder on the same drive and put your drivers in that.
or download and put them in a folder on you game backup drive.
or try this back up drivers with command prompt
Then put the folder on you usb drive.

I have another laptop on hand that I can use to refer to this thread if needed.

So am I correct in saying ....

- Finish backing up steam (currently in progress)
- Recreate windows on another flash drive
- Back up drivers

After this I start the reboot and reinstall processes?

Finish backing up steam (currently in progress)
Yes
Back up drivers
Once back up has finished and put on external drive.
- Recreate windows on another flash drive
You can create that now. Use option Create usb to use on another computer. 51 seconds in video
You may have to access your bios to set usb as first boot device.
Or you may have an option for a one off boot selection.
I need to know more about your computer to offer advice.

But I would need both USBs in at the same time, correct? If thats the case then I need to wait as I only have so many slots to use. It could take a long time communcating on this if you want to know more about my system.

No
Finish steam backup
Do driver backup to same drive.
When finished power off
Insert windows usb
boot to usb.
install windows.
When finished install back up usb and install drivers
or go to website of computer and download drivers. Windows will load basic drivers so you should get internet access.

Not if you know how to boot from usb.
If this is a brand name. E.G hp dell etc then make and serial number or service tag number.
If not Motherboard make and model is all that is needed

It wont let me download the media tool because it is asking for more space. What should I do now?

Its okay I backed up a huge folder in the flash drive I am using for steam backup and it freed up 16gb so it is running now and currentely saving media to flash.

I dont have to delete windows after I create the media to flash, is that right? Just boot to USB?

Correct
Boot to usb
When you get to the part that says where do you want to install windows
delete all partitions. Then choose unallocated space
It will create what it needs.
Sample pics attached - Yours will show more than 20gBb this is only a sample

I must have 2 physical drives in that machine because after deleting, 2 are left.

Drive 0 Unallocated space @ 119.2gb
Drive 1 Unallocated space @ 931.5gb

I can't delete either of these 2.
