So, yesterday I had to change rooms in my house so I had to get my PC to the other room, so normally I just reinstalled everything in the new place exactly like it was before, same cables in the same inputs, but for some reason my PC started to show some problems, like my audio was crackling (it stopped) and my mouse was lagging, the mouse lag is still going on, if I move my mouse from left to right, sometimes it will stop and try to catch up to where it should've been, kinda difficult to explain it but I hope you all got it, i have tried everything, updated drivers (nvidia and all other drivers), cleaned my mouse, windows updates, have re-connected everything back on and all looks great, but mouse lag still very much present.

My specs:

Motherboard: H310M
CPU: i5-9400f
GPU: GeForce GTX 1650
RAM: 16gb
Have tried 3 different versions of GPU drivers, problem still persist.
Windows 10 pro

Have tried everything these past 2 days, don't know what else it could be, it makes all games pretty much unplayable and it's just hella annoying having to readjust my mouse. Anyways appreciate the help, and if you need more info lmk.

Welcome to PCHF :)

Let me ask two questions first before we start, is this a battery powered mouse?
Perhaps new batteries.
Also, does it occur in safe mode?

Let's take a look and see what is going on here. These logs will give us an idea of what is going on with your system, otherwise we are just shooting in the dark, with any suggestions.

Speccy Scan.

  • Please go here and download Speccy.
  • Install and run the program.
  • Upon Completion:
  • Hit File
  • Publish Snap Shot
  • A link will appear, post that link.

MinitoolboxScan.

Please download MiniToolBox and save it to your desktop.
Run the program by right clicking on it and selecting Run as administrator.
When the program opens Select ALL
Click Go
Attach the log or copy and paste.

Thanks for responding! My mouse is not battery powered, I have tested 3 different mouses and in all 3 the problem still occured, and yes the problem still happens when in safe mode

The issue still happening in safe mode suggests a hardware issue.

Since you mentioned moving your setup across the house with no previous issues.

I’d say you should definitely reseat each component. If anything internal and external can be unplugged then do so, and ensure it is plugged back in securely.

It’s possible you missed something, and could be as simple as a loose ram module. It happens to the best of us.

I'm dumb, i thought i had booted in safe mode before but i just realised i didn't, i did now and the problem is gone in safe mode, that means the problem is not hardware related right? What should i do now?

Post the logs that I requested. Still wouldn't hurt to re-seat your components as outlined before.

I have reseated in every way possible even after the safe boot, and about the logs, was reading it, it said something about "Microsoft PS/2 Mouse this device is not present, is not working properly, or does not have all drivers intalled. (Code 24)..." Just don't feel comfortable sharing the entire log when there is some very much private information here that i do not want to become public, hope you understand. If you're looking for something especific in it let me know and i'll look for it, once again thank you for the help

These logs can not be used to identify you., if you check around it is common practice here and in many many computer help forums, for people to post these or these types of logs in order for us helpers to be able to see what is going on with the machine. Help us help you kind of thing here. :)

I mean you could uninstall all mouse drivers and reboot.
Open device manager right click on mice and other pointing.
Right click uninstall each one, then reboot.
Windows will reinstall when the machine reboots.
Hopefully fixing the issue.

Also perform a clean boot.
This can be done to see if there are any software conflicts.
If after going into a clean boot the mouse performs ok.
Then you can re-enable each startup and service one or two at a time until you find the one causing the issue.

Without logs I can not offer much help.

I will tag others for you tho.

Also, the logs you see are modified when published to remove all personal info.
There is nothing left behind in the logs that will give anyone anything not already in the public domain.

Yeah just realised I've used this site before and if I'm not mistaken Pyro helped me with a problem I had yeeears ago and I also had to send this, I'm outside so right when I get home I'll send it, also something I should mention when I was playing games yesterday, it felt like my PC was about to give out, when I started playing games the audio crackling and mouse lags gets much worse, I thought it could maybe be a chipset problem but when I searched for drivers for my cpu I didn't really find much, only found an intel app and it changed nothing

Uninstall With Geek Unisntaller

How do you feel about one drive, edge cortana and copilot?
Care to remove them in order to debloat the machine a bit to see if that could help?

If so...

Please download the file PrivWindoze.exe and place it on your desktop.

Important: Ensure that you save all your current work, as this script will attempt to close all non-essential processes during its scan, including the web browser you are using to read this message.

  • Right-click on PrivWindoze.exe and select "Run as administrator" from the context menu.
  • When the tool launches, you may be prompted again to save your work before proceeding.
  • If the scan does not start automatically, press any key on your keyboard to initiate it.
  • The script will try to create a System Restore point and will go through several stages of scanning. Please be patient during this process.
  • Don't worry if Windows Explorer closes; it will reopen once the scan is complete. This process typically takes just a few minutes.
  • After the scan is done, the command prompt window will close automatically after 5 seconds, and you should find a log file named PrivWindoze.txt on your desktop.
  • Please copy or attach the contents of PrivWindoze.txt in your next response.
