Hi all,

I need some help. I recently got a new PC built, as I wanted something stronger to run demanding games on. However, I've been experiencing a lot of crashes in my games. So far, I've tried playing Ark, ArcheAge and Monster Hunter - all of them crash after some time and throw me out, it's making the whole experience very frustrating.

Ark and MH would also show a pop-up message of this:

I'm attaching the Speccy, hopefully someone can figure it out with me!

Update: Even smaller, less demanding games (Hero's Hour) crash after around 30mins of gameplay

I was referring to disabling, useless items prior to gaming.

Do these in the order listed. Then try and launch your game.

Disable windows updates prior to gaming.
Use this tool in extreme mode.
Use Defender control to disable defender.
Use Kill Em All -- This will close all non windows programs and running processes non essential to your computer. Note: This will close your browser, so save anything if needed prior to running.

After the 4 clicks have been accomplished, launch your game now and see how it goes.

Also there is this tool, which can increase performance.

Hard drives

Manufacturer: Seagate

What's the story with this drive, it certainly isn't new,

Are the games stored on the Seagate drive, if yes, were the games installed on the drive while it was fitted in this computer or was the drive in another computer when the games got installed to it.

The drive has got serious issues in any event;

Can you upload an expanded screenshot of Disk Manager for us.

Access Disk Management via Run.

Press the Windows+R keys to open Run, type diskmgmt.msc in the empty box then press OK.

To capture and post a screenshot;

Click on the ALT key + PRT SCR key..its on the top row..right hand side..now click on start...all programs...accessories...paint....left click in the white area ...press CTRL + V...click on file...click on save...save it to your desktop...name it something related to the screen your capturing... BE SURE TO SAVE IT AS A .JPG ...otherwise it may be to big to upload... after typing in any response you have... click on Upload a File to add the screenshot.

Screenshot instructions are provided to assist those that may read this topic but are not yet aware of the “how to”.

Okay, current status report --> After doing these:

Have done everything here, except the defender tool as one of the links on their page wasn't working. Now, have been testing games: Ark keeps crashing, but I think it might be an internal game issue, Cryofall didn't even open before, now it works fine, GTFO works fine now.

As for this response:

Windows memory diagnostic did tell me that I have a problem with my drive, so that makes some sense. All the games have been installed after the drive was fitted into the PC - I only just received it a month ago, and haven't done any modifications to it. Attaching the Disk management screen below.

Thank you very much for the help so far!

Sorry but does not answer all that was asked, please clarify;

Update: frequent bluescreen crashes started happening today (attaching pic for reference) . PC shuts down by itself soon after. Seems to be almost completely unusable now...

My bad, so:

games were all installed after the drive was fitted. And yes, all the games are on the SEAGATE drive, I don't have any other drives I'd be using right now.
Sorry but does not answer all that was asked, please clarify

Thanks for clarifying, bad news though, the data on the Seagate HDD is toast, notice that the two partitions on it are marked as unallocated space.

You need to physically disconnect the Seagate drive from the MB and see how the PC behaves.

Going offline now, will check back after work tomorrow UK time.
