whenever i load any game up on my pc after a minute or so the pc will fully shutdown and reboot on any game it has always done this but i don’t know what the problem is

p.s. ive been told maybe the issue could be my memory clock speed being 1067 and to replace my ddr3 ram with ddr4 and a new b550 motherboard but before spending that much money i thought i’d check if that actually will solve the problem and isn’t a waste of money

thankyou very much

does it only do it playing any game?
what about if you just use Word, or a web browser?
have you kept an eye on the temps?

i sit on chrome 7 hours a day using google classroom for my college so it works perfectly then it’s the second a game is loaded up it crashes and shuts down in a minute or less

the temps seem to be all fine and perfectly normal aswell do you think buying a new motherboard and ram would be good to upgrade from 1067 memory clock speed to 3200 or will that have no effect on the games crashing?

it would only improve your situation if the current memory or motherboard are faulty.
because this seems to ONLY happen when playing games, chances are good it is software related - as to where, that's where it gets interesting.
since it is any game you play, it must be some shared resource or library file all your games use, like C++ Redistributable, Java, PunkBuster - something like that.
the ultimate solution may be to backup your stuff, wipe the PC and start afresh, big hammer to be sure, but you'll have a clean slate to further investigate from if it doesn't fix the issue.
otherwise you are up for uninstalling all the games and reinstalling one by one and seeing how that goes.

call me silly for asking but will i get all my progress back on them all ?

all depends on where the game saves things.
I know when my son was into gaming, I had to backup his stuff before wiping the PC, I found his game saves and screenshots in various folders.
will also depend on if the game is local or online.

you should at least try to backup whatever you can but I wouldn't restore that data until you play the game in 'virgin' mode, that is, straight out of the box so to speak. you want the PC (if you are thinking of nuking it from space) to be as clean as possible, without any contamination from extraneous software.
just reload Windows, see how you go, get Updates, see how you go, load one game, see how you go.
baby steps until it's all back to how it was and is working, or starts mucking up again and you know the last game you installed was the culprit.

i cant back up the pc for some reason but i’ve ran a thing called malware byte and it said i had 0 threats of things wrong with any software on pc the only issue left that i haven’t tried to fix is buying a new mother board and ram to improve the memory clock speed from 1067 to 3200 i have now had multiple people say this is the issue

could be one of those suck-it-and-see situations. :)
but if the problem is software related, I'm not hopeful that anything will improve.

i got some man who’s very good with pc to look at it and he’s the one who’s checked it over said nothing software related and if it is then it must be unsolvable the only thing he said was wrong was the memory clock speed as there is nothing else at all wrong unless it is something wrong with the actual build of the pc so getting a new motherboard and ram will increase the memory clock speed but reassembling the specs will also tick off the list making sure everything has been put together in the pc correctly. i would just like to check with you if you thing actually getting a new motherboard and ram will solve the problem

while I can't rule out getting a new mobo and memory won't fix it, the flip side is also true - he can 100% say it will !!!

my theory is, if it was hardware related (in this case all focus seems to be only on the mobo and RAM) then I would expect to see other programs suffering some sort of issue, be it crashes, BSoD, freezing etc.
from your descriptions, it is only games.
for example, if it was a memory issue, why hasn't Word, Outlook, web browsing, printing, or any other program you must use daily, being affected?
\also, after the mobo gets replaced, you may have to either re-activate Windows (no biggie) or worst case, repair install it, due to the level of hardware change you are about to do.

but as I've said - suck it and see - do the hardware upgrade if for no other reason that you get the latest gen gear and speeds and see how you go from there.

i don’t know if i can bring myself to do it £400 is a lot of money just for a suck and see moment, any help with what you’d do

totally agree, which is why it'll be prudent to try and get your hands parts that will allow you to test before committing.
any chance you can get your hands on the necessary parts from a friends, family members, neighbours or work PC? (purely for testing purposes of course!)

you still have the free potential solution to try first - getting your data backed up and reinstalling Windows from scratch.

sadly, you have to pick the easiest hurdle to surmount first, new hardware or reload software?

If you really want the best of help with this you need to provide any and all requested information;

Can you
1) Download and run and then post. https://www.ccleaner.com/speccy/download

To post: https://www.ccleaner.com/docs/speccy/using-speccy/publishing-a-speccy-profile-to-the-web

2) Can you go here and download speed fan and install Click On Me .
Run speed fan then click on the Exotics tab > show the magic. post a screen capture.

3) are you able to supply the Make & Model of your power supply - I assume this is a desktop?

Cheers
PeterOz

Had you of done the above when asked you would be far better placed to make a decision than you are now, #3 on the list is the most pertinent of required information as what you describe has all the hallmarks of weak or failing PSU.

i’ve been told that deleting the drivers and then re downloading windows and everything back would work but i wouldn’t not know how to do that.

i’ve come to the conclusion that maybe i should sell it and purchase a new one but then i wouldn’t know how to carry my storage over. as you can tell i’m useless with solutions to fix pc hence coming to this site

any chance you can refer me to a video or a guide on how to reload software i think i’m going to try that option first please bruce

OK - let's get the Speccy report and see if that sheds any light before we blaze forward with a fresh reload.

get Speccy from here; https://www.piriform.com/speccy/builds

in Speccy, click File > Publish Snapshot > Copy to Clipboard > Close.
now you can paste (Ctrl+V) that link into a post.

the only thing Speccy can't give us is your power supply specs.
you'll have to take the side cover of the tower case and note down the details off the sticker that should be on the power transformer box.

and, even if we don't end up doing a 'nuke from space' reinstall of Windows, you should have a backup of your data anyway.

so get an external hard drive and copy onto it any folder you think you want to keep. :)
