Steam Download Speed

I know that Steam compresses files and part of the issue with download speeds is the decompression by my PC. My downloads top out at about 11mbps when I have 200+ on WiFi according to Ookla Speedtest. I plugged my PC into the ethernet cable directly and my download speed dropped to 5 mbps on Steam and on Ookla. I unplugged it and Steam jumped to 200+ for a couple of minutes and my Ookla test showed download back up to 200+. Then Steam dropped back to a top speed of 11. It seems weird that it holds steady at about 11 no matter what region I use...

Would love to hear anyone's thoughts on this...

Download speeds vary widely and constantly.
All depends on your connection, type of, how many users sharing the same modem, how many in the street, on the same exchange, the time of day, and many more variables.

Jump into your modems config menu and find the line attenuation and signal to noise ratio figures.
Tell us what they are.

I'll give those a try to be sure. It only happens with Steam downloads. Every once in a while it will be faster, but most often it hovers between 11 and 12 mbps.

ok, run this twice. once when you are downloading and once while you are under normal use, provide both logs and label accordingly

Please download MiniToolBox and save it to your desktop.
Run the program by right clicking on it and selecting Run as administrator.
When the program opens check mark Select All Then hit GO
Please post the log in your next reply. Attach or copy and paste, whatever is easier for you.
