Hi. I have just discovered you, so I don't know if anyone can help me. I will try to be concise.

I have started up a YouTube channel, importing videos from Doodly software.

I set up Rumble. I was trying to customise my thumbnail. I clicked on "custom thumbnail" and a white box came up. It said "captures" with an empty file icon. I couldn't for the life of me figure out what this meant. After many frustrating hours...I dragged "videos" from the list on the left hand side and dropped it in the "captures" file. Big, big mistake. Some videos did appear in the captures file, but only a few I have already uploaded.

My "video" option on the left hand strip now is empty. I now cannot upload any videos. I tried to re-export a new video from Doodly. It didn't work. I still have no videos.

If anyone can help me I will be beyond grateful. I am about as technical as a drunk ferret, so if you think you can help please bear that in mind...it needs to be simple, like you are talking to your gran!

Kindness, and all that,

Sr K

First question
With Doodly once you have created your video do you have the video stored on your computer
Or is it still with Doodly.
When you navigate to Youtube, what browser do you open
Are you going onto the internet using windows 10 Microsoft Edge
Do you click on an icon that looks like this.
MS Edge.PNG

g'day and welcome to the forums. :)

your browser will be something like Chrome, Firefox or Edge, to name the popular ones.

I don't use Rumble, Doodly or YouTube, but it sounds like that capture box is to change your thumbnail (maybe) and it probably only accepts certain types of formats, like JPG or GIF or something.
and if it is for a thumbnail, usually there is a size limit.

on their web page, I'd be surprised if there isn't some sort of help link.

Thumbnail is a pic - not a video .
You need a pic that is 1280 x 720 pixels to use as a thumbnail.
Example you are doing a video on a sewing demo.
You would use a pic of a sewing machine as a thumbnail.

Hi. I have the videos still with Doodly. What I do is "export" them. Then they appear in the "videos" section on the left hand side. The problem is now I have no videos stored on my laptop and even when I tried to re-export the video from Doodly it still is not on my laptop. The videos are no longer on my computer and can no longer be exported to my computer. Oh, I go on to the internet using Firefox. Does any of this make sense?

Hi. Thanks for the welcome, the info about the browser. I think you're right about it being pictures. I have subsequently been told this. I am in such a state about having no videos stored on my computer anymore, I am going to try to sort this and then (when/if I have recovered my sanity) I will start trying to find some kind of Rumble support. I haven't been able to find one so far.

Thank you for this information. I feel a bit dim, but I thought you just choose a frame from your video. Do you see where I went wrong? Trouble is, now I have dragged my "video" button to the "captures" file, I have lost the videos stored on my computer. I also cannot re-export a video from Doodly files into the video section on my laptop. It is now an empty file and I can't even put anything new in it. This means, I can't upload any videos. Holy moly.

Any errors.
Sorry I do not use any of this but from what I can find.
You create the videos in doodle. you put them in youtube and the you sync youtube and rumble
Do either of these help
Rumble
Click on me
Doodly.
Click on me
If not let us know where it falls over
These questions might help. Let me explain the process. I export the video from the Doodly software. The video is then prepared for use and is stored on my laptop. I then open YouTube and press the icon to film or upload video. I click "upload video." Then the left hand strip comes up with "videos" listed on it. I press "videos" and all my videos come up. I then click the one I want to upload and it goes into the YouTube box and I follow instructions to publish it.

Now, I have done this dumb thing and dragged "videos" into the "captures" file I have lost all the videos stored on my laptop. I still have them in Doodly, so I tried re-exporting a video, but it won't go into the video file. The video file remains empty. Ahhhhhhhhhh

We all have to learn
To be clear
Can you still see your videos on Doodly?
Bless you. I still have my videos in Doodly, but I have to export them which prepares them for use and stores them on my computer. I go to YouTube and press the icon to film or upload video. I press upload video, and then the videos come up (left hand strip). I press the video I want to upload and it goes from my laptop to YouTube. I then follow instructions to publish.

Trouble is, I no longer have videos stored on my computer. The "videos" file is empty and when I tried to re-export a video from Doodly it still remains empty. The videos button just comes up "empty file" or something.

Check the doodly video I linked to and see if it is the way you have been doing it.
Could it be exporting to somewhere else on your laptop.
Download Agent Ransack Click on me and install.
Run Agent Ransack and in the search put in the name of one of your videos.
Let it search your computer.

Ah. I clicked on Doodly as you said and this is how it is done. Give me a minute or more and I will install the Agent Ransack thing.

empty file or something is not good enough.
When searching for answers we need to know the exact error message.
Ok. I went back over in order to get the exact information. I went to upload on to YouTube. I pressed "select files." The left hand selection came up. Curiously, "downloads" came up first. I then clicked "video." It came up empty and said "No items match your search." The box at the top said ">this PC> videos"

Perhaps you will not be able to help me. I am really sorry, but I can't afford Agent Ransack.
