Hi i have a lenovo ideapad gaming 3 15ARH05 and i recently wanted to add an additional 1To of HDD to my 500Go ssd.
I followed a video on youtube but to my surprise the pc didn't even power on but whenever i remove the hdd it turns on as usual. Pls help im kinda stressed out 😥

so your process was something like this:
if so, how confident are you that you got the SATA ribbon cable inserted correctly into the mobo slot?

does that new HDD work in another PC or in an external enclosure?

I'm pretty sure that the installation was right because i follow a video step by step, however I can't check if the hdd works in another pc because I don't have one. I really wish that it isn't the problem of the hdd lol

well the problem might just be that I was using the wrong sata connection and that is because the laptop didn't come with one so I had to find one online. but sadly it appears that I didn't choose the right one. and now I'm planning to upgrade my ssd from 500gega to 1tera since waiting for the correct sata connection would last a lonnng time (4-6 weeks)
when you put the new drive into the laptop, did the laptop already have the SATA connection, or did you have one that came with the initial laptop purchase?
