Hard Drive Will Not Boot

When you cleared the cmos did you put the jumper back in the original place?
If you have an enclosure that makes it see the sd card as a usb.
Copy all data off the sd card or it will be deleted.
On a working computer Go to Click on me download the tool and use the option to create an installation for another computer.
Whilst it creates the file. connect the 8TB to the computer it will be used on.
Connect to sata port 1. From your pic you are connected to sata port 3.
Page 25 shows where sata port 1 is located Click on me
Insert the usb into a black usb port on the computer.
Boot the computer and press F11 and pick the option to boot from the usb.
When windows ask where to install windows 10 if it is showing partitions.
Click on each partition and delete them.
This should leave you with Unallocated.
Click on unallocated and click on next.
Windows should then create all the required partitions and it will format the disk as GPT which is what the 8TB needs.

- Sata or hard drive
- Video adapter
- Network interface card (NIC)
- Audio
- Touchpad
- Any other hardware drivers needed for your particular model.

Yes - i would use that as the boot drive.
i have not yet done post 43....searching for the video card driver.
Finally had a second to do this....the installer gets to the process of Installing Udates and crashes with the error of
Windows could not update registry data in the installation.
This is the second time it's happend to me, after the first time I hit Shift+F10 and opened command prompt then used disk part to ensure the 8TB drive was formatted as GPT
And tried again, but same error as the result.
I know you checked with diskpart for gpt
Let's give the drive a clean
****NB this will wipe all data from the drive****
Boot from Win 10 install usb
When you get to the startup screen (pic attached)
Press Shift + F10 key
you should get a X:> prompt
What is in blue you type in red you do
e.g Enter press enter key
Diskpart enter
list disk enter
Select disk n enter (n=the disk you wish to convert)
clean enter
convert gpt enter
exit enter
exit enter
can you continue with the install now ?
Let's give the drive a clean

Maybe faulty HDD? and that could be why the clone failed.

The 1 TB was the original drive that has since stopped booting
The 8 TB was the drive that I tried to clone the 1TB TO
@Bruce @Pyro @Evan Omo any of you guys got an idea of what else to try.
