Hey everyone! Hope y’all can help. And before you ask I’m pretty experienced building pc’s so I’ve done some troubleshooting already.

Specs:
-ryzen 9 5600x
-32gb team group Vulcan RAM <@!734957228489965619>00mhz
-rtx 3060 12gb
-B450 tomahawk max

My issue:
I just installed my new processor (not sure if related to my issue) and this upgrade included updating my bios on the motherboard

Now when I go to play games or anything my computer likes to “not respond” on the game IF a window pops up and also if a window doesn’t pop up it’ll just have my game in the background on task manager not doing anything.

Please DM me or mention me or however this works I really just want to take advantage of my new processor and have some fun

Not sure what the RAM is tbh, can you post a link to it for us.

-ryzen 9 5600x

No such a CPU, is it a Ryzen 5 5600X by any chance.

Can you post the brand and model name or number of the power supply (PSU).

Download then run Speccy (free) and post the resultant url for us, details here, this will provide us with information about your computer hardware + any software that you have installed that may explain the present issue/s.

To publish a Speccy profile to the Web:

In Speccy, click File, and then click Publish Snapshot.

In the Publish Snapshot dialog box, click Yes to enable Speccy to proceed.

Speccy publishes the profile and displays a second Publish Snapshot. You can open the URL in your default browser, copy it to the clipboard, or close the dialog box.

Hi thanks for the reply my bad I have dyslexia and I meant to say its a Ryzen 9 5900x 12 core

Links here:

CPU: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08164VTWH?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details

RAM: https://www.amazon.com/TEAMGROUP-T-...t=&hvlocphy=9033114&hvtargid=pla-818798343803

As for the PSU I'm not actually sure what brand or model it is without taking the computer completely apart but its a 80 gold certified 1000watt supply maybe 2 years old

I forget Speccy is a thing hahaha

Sorry but without the required information your thread cannot go any further, you have four screens hooked up and multiple storage devices on board so while 1000W sounds great if not a proven brand it means nothing.

Power Profile
Active power scheme: High performance

Change the Windows Power Plan to Balanced, Ultra and High Performance are a form of overclocking that is known to cause stability and overheating issues, the setting should only be used for gaming type notebooks that have a discrete GPU that needs the extra power.

To see if this is a Windows issue download then run the Windows All in One Repair tool from here, disregard the malware guidance but follow the other steps to the letter and in particular ensuring that you first create a new restore point and perform a proper Windows clean boot before running the repair, details for the clean boot here.
