Ever needed to find the username and password to access a modem/router? This guide will show you a great portable freeware app that just may help you to get the information you need? Sure you can search the net and get this info but "Router Default Passwords" may help to find the information in a fraction of the time.

Before we look at Router Default Passwords it has to be stated that this guide is not aimed to assist in the unauthorized access to a modem/router but rather to help owners who may find themselves locked out of their device. These would typically be users who have typically misplaced or forgotten their modem/router username and or password. In those circumstances a reset is normally required, which in the first instance commonly requires pressing a reset button somewhere on the device. Pressing the reset will reset the device back to its factory defaults meaning any prior customization will be lost along with your security username and password. Sometimes but not always the default username and password will actually be on a label on the device. Entering the factory default name and password at the modem/router login page will allow access again to your device. This is where Router Default Passwords can help.

You can get a copy of Router Default Passwords from HERE, download the zipped file and use your favorite decompressor to expand the file to somewhere you can find later. There is no installation required so navigate to the newly created folder, open it and double click the RouterDP.exe file.

Router Default passwords will open and will display a link to your primary modem/router, which when clicked will take you to your modem/routers config screen.

Clicking the down arrow to the right of the Show all List, or simply scrolling through the alphabetic list of devices will display the default usernames and default passwords for loads of modem/routers. As an example this computer is connected through an Asus router, so scrolling down we see several entries for Asus with the first one working for the majority of Asus routers.

Clicking the link shown in Router Default Passwords will take us to our modem/router web page, and typing Admin in for both our username and password boxes will allow entry to the modem/router configuration.
