  • Hello everyone We want to personally apologize to everyone for the downtime that we've experienced. We are working to get everything back up as quickly as possible. Due to the issues we've had, your password will need to be reset. Please click the button that says "Forgot Your Password" and change it. We are working to have things back to normal. Emails are fixed and should now send properly. Thank you all for your patience. Thanks, PCHF Management
Want to know just what temperature your CPU is running at? Here's a free portable application that works on all modern Windows PC's and will give accurate information on the majority of common CPU's. It's called "Core Temp" and there are two portable versions, one for 32bit systems available HERE and a 64bit version HERE. If you are unsure if you have a 32 or 64 bit system have a look HERE

Download Core Temp, and as it comes as a zipped file use your favorite decompressor to extract the contents to a new folder. For this guide we will use the 64 bit version but they are mostly identical. Open the newly created folder made when Core Temp was unzipped and double click the file named Core Temp.exe

Core Temp will open and display general information regarding the CPU including the temperature of each core of the CPU. Depending on your CPU the number of cores may be more or less than this example.

The default options should suit most but should you wish to monitor the CPU temperature in your taskbar, click on the "Options" menu and then click "Notification Area" Click the "All cores" radio button and then "Apply"

The temps of all four cores (in this case) will now display in your taskbar.

Other options allow for a change from Celcius to Fahrenheit, start up with Windows, and to customize the core Temp colors, etc, etc.
