    Hi

    Bruce / Peter

As the C and D partitions wasn’t adjacent to each other, the facility to expand the C partition was greyed out, so I had to watch a few videos on doing it.

Another issue I’ve had, is a water mark bottom right corner of the screen telling me to activate Windows.
I watched a few videos on how to get rid of it and tried them out, I did manage to remove it and did a few computer restarts and complete shut downs and it appeared to be removed.

One of the methods was to untick the background box, when I did that I ended up with just a black background with just my desktop shortcuts, so I ended up
    re-ticking the box again.

Strange thing is after the computer was left shut down overnight, when it was then booted up next day the water mark was back again, I can’t understand why and am still trying to sort it.

Another thing, I’m also getting is a message about finishing setting up, none of which I want ie. using cloud etc. which Iv’e never used and don’t want to.
So, I also need to find out how to preventing it from continuously asking for setup completion every time I boot up.

    See the screen shot.

The watermark is telling you your Windows has not been activated, and will not go away until you do so.
Click Start, Settings, System, half way down click Activation.
What Windows version did you have, and what have you re-installed, and with what product key?

It’s basically saying the current key used cannot be validated.

To stop Windows 11 from reminding you to finish setup, go to Settings > System > Notifications & actions and uncheck “Suggest ways I can finish setting up my device to get the most out of Windows”

You had 343 GB free next to C drive.

                        Hi Bruce

Obviously, the key code I got can’t be legitimate since it’s not being recognised, as already said having watched one or two videos on trying to get rid of the water mark.

It has managed to do it after a fashion, if I go through the process of removing the mark sure enough it’s no longer visible, if I close the computer down for say an hour and reboot it there’s no water mark.

Leave the computer shut down over night and boot it up the next morning and the water mark is back, if I do an immediate restart or shut down and re boot it’s gone again.

I think I can manage to live with that as it only takes a few minutes to do a reboot.

                        Peter

Thanks for the info on stopping the splash screen appearing asking about finish setting up.
The next time it appears I will follow your instructions on disabling it.

At the onset the drive adjacent to the C drive would not let me expand into it, if I right clicked it the expansion function was just greyed out, but I managed to move a usable drive next to the C. and hence was able to expand the C drive.

With the help from both of you I have managed to get the laptop up and running, which for me is not bad considering I’ve never done it before, so thank you once again guys for all your help.
