Na, that was brutally slow. 7 minutes between posts tell you all you need to know.

What I would honestly do if the system can take bigger M2 replace that and install the OS on the M2 and use the HDD for storage.

Pardon my ignorance but why can I only see 1 hard drive? Or am I missing something glaringly obvious.

Probably since you are use to seeing drives that ae like the one at the bottom of the image you have posted.

They now make what are known a M.2 NVMe this is located above and to the left of the RAM.

              Okay so my options are
              • Reboot windows onto SSD
              • Possibly buy a new SSD to replace current one

Anything else for me to consider?

Answer the first question form post 101 and reposed 107.

Could put the OS onto the M.2 and only the OS.

Really? Why? Also just before, I heard a noise coming from my laptop and it froze on screen.

Sorry Rusty, I am happy to do that yes. It is only on the larger one as I was advised to do it that way.

                      What did it sound like?

since that is a platter drive possibility starting to go out could be the reason that you were having issues in the first place.

It was like a pop. I assumed it was something falling on my table.

I advised to put it on the larger drive as it has more space.
If you look at the maths in post #97 it explains why.
When I looked at the manual it said your machine could have 2 M2 drives.
Remember I asked if you could open up and check before we started the re install of windows.
If you want it to boot faster.
                          Power of
                          Remove larger drive
                          install windows on M2 120gb
Power off and re insert larger drive.
You will need to then watch everything you install or you will run out of space again.
Low space is what started this thread.

I wasn’t critising, sorry if it sounded like I was. So should I back up drivers, remove 1tb drive, boot to small drive, put 1tb back in, and see where that takes us? Any steps missing?

Also, could you let me know if this is suitable? Don’t want to assume all ssd drives are universal.
