Have to agree the older version of office were so much easer to utilize.

Found Remove hyphens from a paragraph or paragraphs
Scroll Down a bit to get to that section.

If it is just a text document I would suggest copying it to Note Pad then remove the hyphens and fix the words then open a blank Word document and paste it back in there.

Since you are going form Word to Word it is also copying over the formatting that is giving you grief.

Check under the Page Layout tab and look for Hyphenation click that and select None.

I learned WordPerfect when I first got involved with computers. WP is way better than word. We’d turn on “reveal codes” and see all the formatting. It was very easy to correct by removing some formatting that should not have been in the “document”. When the corrections were done, you’d turn off reveal code and get the proper “document” to print.

My husband uses WordPerfect to type most notes/letters etc. (and when he had to create Calculus tests) but prefers Excel to QuatroPro. As a result, I always need to install two Office Suites on his computers.

Thank you Rustys
I hace copied the document into Note Pad and fixed it and copied it back into a blank document in Word and it is fine
I have reviewed all the settings that you have mentioned but the original document is still giving me grief so I will get rid of it now that I have a clean version
