Oh good a Blue Screen. Physically reboot the PC and try the scan in Non-Virtualization Mode.

If the scan produces another blue screen then skip it and move onto my instructions.

Yes. Power off and turn it back on. The Stop code means that the program accessed a part of memory that’s not available.

Awesome I’m glad that it didn’t Blue Screen again. Sometimes it happens, and I’m glad it was a one-time thing

Go ahead and follow Mal’s instructions, starting with the Zoek Scan. We have to make absolute certain that your computer is clean and that malware is not causing FontXplorer to be sluggish. Better safe than sorry, and this way this’ll ease any concerns about malware infections too With PUPs, you never know if they’ll drop malware or not.

When you have completed the last round of instructions, then please continue on with these.

Now that you have cleaned out some temp files, lets go ahead and disable all of the items starting up with your machine except your antivirus. To do this you will need to click on tools then start up then under the Windows Tab select each item then disable. Also under the scheduled task tab, you are safe to disable all task. Only disable items under the windows tab and scheduled task tab!

Now that you have disabled those un-needed start ups lets go into the settings, we will have Ccleaner run when your machine boots, so that you will never have to worry about cleaning temp files again.

                To do this:

                [ul]
[li]Hit options.[/li][li]Settings.[/li][li]Place a tick to run Ccleaner when the computer starts.[/li][/ul]

Now go to the advanced tab, and select close program after cleaning, now run the cleaner again this will close Ccleaner.

Any Idea how long the zoek scan lasts? It’s currently been running for almost half hour and it has been stuck on Firefox extensions for about 13 mins now

On some machines it runs for 10 minutes, on some it will run for an hour. If it hangs after an hour then you will need to reboot, then just move onto the other instructions. Not to worry, the other tools are fairly quick at their job.

Sure, you could let it run over night. If not u will need to reboot as Zoek will protect it’s self and you will not be able to kill it normally.

I don’t want to leave the computer on whilst I sleep, do I just turn off the PC as per normal?
