System Volume Information is where System Restore keeps its restore points. Most people never need to directly access the data in those folders, so by default there are no user permissions granted on the folders.

No to sure why a your font explorer would need access to it. Can you configure the software not to access that folder?

Hi there ManishMan this is from FontXplorer site, which may help?

BTW: unless FontXplorer does something special, there is a free and portable app you make like to take a look at, it’s called Nexus font HERE and it will view, install, uninstall, and temporarily install fonts. Grreat program. There will shortly be a guide on it here on the forum.

Thanks for that, Everywhere else was telling me to untick “hide protected operating…” without any luck. Now that I have done the opposite I haven’t notice the error popping up as yet. But this is now all of my problems, the reason why I was trying get rid of this error was because the software became extremely slow whilst I tried to browse through a folder with fonts that I haven’t installed as yet. But now that I haven’t seen the error it is still extremely slow when I try to browse through the fonts.

Up to maybe a few weeks to a month ago it was working fine, don’t know what happened but as a graphic designer, this is slowing me up big time…

[li]Is it just your font software that is being slow? [/li]
[li]Or your machine in general?[/li][li]If it is just the software, then perhaps reinstalling it will help.[/li][li]Remove it with Geek Uninstaller, reboot your machine and reinstall it.[/li][/ul]

To add what Malnutrition has stated after you do the uninstall rune the system for a bit to see if there is any improvement. Then reinstall the software and test it again.

This software in particular is has become extremely slow and the software is not installed on my system, I’m just running it using the .exe file. But I have also noticed that my browser also tends to lag a bit now and then and becomes unresponsive at times, not sure what is causing it but I did a scan with malwarebytes and it removed over 80 PUP’s and even after that the software is still lagging.

If this will make it a bit better, when I use this software to browse through my installed fonts, it tends to go smoothly but when I try to browse another folder with fonts thats not installed on the system, it drags. Never used to happen before.

                      Hi,
Just to be on the safe side, can I get you to follow the Malware PreWork link in my signature? I want to be 150% certain malware isn’t causing these issues. A malware infection will hinder any and all remedies of fixing it.

It certainly won’t hurt it, but when you said it removed 150 PUPs, that triggers a red flag. And if you indeed have a malware infection, that can cause slowness, sluggishness and failures that you’re experiencing.
