Random freezing

Installed new drive and a fresh copy of 21H1. Iβve only installed the necessary drivers, and left it using windows defender, rather than my usual av software. Running edge rather than chrome. All seems ok at the min, but virtually nothing is installed on it but the necessary stuff. No freezing in his games so far so fingers crossed. Will install the other stuff he uses 1 by 1 and see how things go.
Thanks for all the help and advice so farComment

Okβ¦the system froze again for him, but when he restarted, the system said the bios was corrupted. It reloaded the bios from a backup, and it was fine, but now thus new issue has confused me. Is this a potential motherboard issue all along being marked by a failing hdd. The bios is up to date, would it be wise to reflash the bios with the same versionβ¦Comment

Lets check the temps and if the CPU gets to hot the system will shut its self off as a safety precaution to prevent damage form happening. The dust has been cleared put correct? Maybe about time to reapply the thermal paste.
Download Speedfan and install it. Once itβs installed, run the program and post here any information it shows.

Sorry for the delay in replying. I have attached the screenshots as requested, although its at Idle. Should we now be thinking of stress testing the system. I was thinking of using Prime95, and I have used Furmark, before the HDD change, but that didnβt cause the GPU to crash.
He did use the system last night with no issues, but I had moved the socket the surge protected extension cable plugβs into, and also moved the homeplug internet connection to a different socket, just in case of power surges causing the issue.
It was completely fine when we tested on the kitchen table after the HDD change, so odd it started to play up back in his bedroom.
Again thanks for taking the time to help.Comment

Go ahead and rune the stress test and post back what the results are and monitor the temps and stuff under a load.
Where is the system located in the room? Does it get plenty of air circulation?Comment

Itβs under his desk, plenty of room under there. The home plugs was already in a mains socket and not the surge protector. Could a surge through the home plug cause these issuesβ¦ Will run the load tests. Heβs currently using it, with no issues at the moment. Game heβs playing usually crashed by now, but all ok. Not sure if I mentioned in my OP, but to get it to run ok in his old case with stock cooling, needed side off and a fan blowing at it, which it why I got a bigger case and aftermarket CPU cooler, as I was suspecting overheating. Will post results as soon as I can get system off him. Do you think bios corruption related or a red herringβ¦Comment
