Had a crash at 10:30am this morning whilst using ANSYS software, Opera and Spotify and the stop code was Kernal_Security_Check_failure.

Had an identical crash to that at 11:30 am with the same stop code. Then about 10 minutes later another crash while carrying out the same tasks but with the stop code Kmode_exception_not_handled.

I’ve attached the 3 dump files.

Sorry to be a pain but I really appreciate you giving your time to help me out.

ANSYS was involved in two of the three crashes and Spotify in one, Opera does not get a mention.

Two of the dmps mention a security risk, can I ask from where you got the ANSYS program.

I downloaded the install file from the official ANSYS website and installed it to my D Drive.

Never come across the program before so used Google, is what you have a trial version, the software is rather expensive to purchase looking here

I was recommended the free student version from my lecturers found here: https://www.ansys.com/en-gb/academic...udent-products

That was some of the info I looked at and reason why I asked was because some trial software has encryption that can cause conflicts.

Best suggestion atm is next time you use ANSYS don`t use either Opera or Spotify to begin with, if all is ok after prolonged use, try one but not both of the other two, see how that goes, again if ok run the last of the three and see if that causes any problems.

Hi, yes I have an update, I done what you said and crashes definetley lowered in frequency. I decided to not use my download of ANSYS and instead log in to a remote access to the university computers and use it through that. I have had one crash in the last few days that I am aware of.

Happened about 15 minutes ago after using the PC for about 2 hours. I was logged in to the remote access computer with opera open on my PC and got the blue screen error message β€˜system service exemption’.

System service exemption crashes can happen any time, can be random and can be driver related.

                    Any crash dmp for us

Your problem was with GalaxyClient.exe and java and no mention of ANSYS.

Ok, I have just uninstalled galaxy, it is a game service similar to steam which I have not used in a while. Anything else I should try just now?

Do you use java at all.

If not, uninstall it as it is one of the most widely exploited programs out there, if you do use it for some reason, always make sure that you have the latest version available and likewise always disable it when it is not being used.

Strange, was possibly something to do with GalaxyClient.exe then.
