I will try to test playing MHW without the controller and see the result for that.
As for cables, that will need to take some time because I need to go and borrow 1 before I can test that.

One other suggestion for you to check is to disable the USB selective suspend setting, this can cause problems with devices such as what you have connected as power sometimes get shut off from the USB ports, not good for a games controller or wifi dongle, see “how to” here.

So for now, check for driver updates, disable the USB selective suspend setting, restart the computer and test, if still a problem, move onto playing MHW without the games controller attached to the computer please.

For the drivers, do I still carry on updating the wifi adaptor driver? Because it is different from the 1 that you linked me in an earlier post.
And do I need to update my drivers via DriverMax? Or I can try and search for the outdated drivers because there are currently more than 1
driver to update and the program can only download 1 at a time.

You should only check for any new drivers for the two things that were specifically mentioned in my reply #30, if you install anything else you will end up causing all sorts of problems.

Can you please just stick to what has been suggested and then provide any feedback, if you keep on coming back asking questions we have no way of knowing what you have or havn`t tried and I for one am getting lost with where we are up to.

Trying the game without the PS game controller, test, provide feedback.

Check for and install any new chipset and Intel Rapid Storage drivers, test, provide feedback.

Disable the USB selective suspend setting, test, provide feedback.

Hi, at present, I have tried:

• Disabling the USB selective suspend settings with controller > crashes (time crash from game start can be <10mins or <20mins)

Hello,

Only leaves the most difficult test and that is online gaming using the Ethernet port and removing the Realtek USB adaptor.

We have tested your computer and the GPU in particular and all passed with flying colours so it only really leaves the wireless internet connection.

Yes, it seems we are left with that. I will try to get a LAN cable ASAP and test it out. But this will require a few days as I need to arrange for it.
I will also update regarding the chipset driver later on.

Two things that you can do meanwhile;

Try removing the Realtek adaptor and playing offline games or watching videos etc.

Using the computer with the Realtek adaptor connected but do not do any online gaming, stick to browsing, watching online videos or downloading anything that you may need, this includes Windows updates etc.

This will help us to determine whether or not it is the online games that are causing the issue.

If the computer does happen to crash when you are using it under either of the above conditions can you please make a note of what the computer was being used for at the time.

Hi, I am back with more updates~

Things I did before I slept (20th April):

• I updated my chipset driver but playing MHW still result in screen freeze and BSOD.
  I have a question regarding the updating of my drivers, when you mention Intel Rapid Storage drivers, so long as it does not have those words in the driver name, it means that I do not have to update them right? I just want to clarify because I do not know if those drivers in the attached image are part of the Rapid Storage Drivers. (I did not update them and will not do any random updates unless recommended and I am not trying to be funny or cause inconveniences. I seek your understanding as I have not studied that much on hardware before).
• Doing other stuff with or without connection to the internet does not seem to cause any crashes even after close to an hour.

Things I tried today (21st April):

• I have also unplugged the wifi adaptor and used a LAN cable I borrowed but it also results in screen freeze and BSOD.
• I was just trying to narrow down the events before I would experience the screen freeze and BSOD inside the game, this time, it was a WHEA UNCORRECTABLE ERROR. Only this particular time. (I was on LAN cable)

*All the above tests are done with the updated chipset driver.

You do need the second one, SMBUS is akin to the chipset drivers as it enables the various ports to communicate with the processor, you are right to check as well btw (y)

Proves that the internet connection is involved in your problems.

You missed telling us what the computer was being used for when it crashed while connected using the LAN.

while using LAN, I went to play MHW because I wanted to test out using the same conditions.
That is when the crash happened.

Right, last crash was a problem with the CPU, the previous one was CPU related and the first one of the latest three involved the CPU and Windows Defender, the common denominator being a problem with the CPU I headed off and did some research and found that this is a well documented problem with MHW, an example thread and possible fix here

Before you head off and check out the thread at the link there is a test it is worthwhile you running.

If you are overclocking at all, stop.

with regards to that link on the Steam forums, are you referring to testing out the mod posted by the thread starter?
If so, he seems to have stopped updating the mod and it cannot run with the latest MHW patch.

To stop overclocking (if there is any), I am required to go into the BIOS to do it right?
