ok Evan -have sent system details through β€”follwed by dump files as both you and yopur colleague requested
Rusty has moved the latter to BSOD topic on win 10 so as information has been subdivided into two topics , how do you tackle the matter from hereon in --do I keep my eyes on both or will one of them show more info than the other etc etc…?
          Will watch this space
          Thanks, Crackers

We will want to check the condition of your hard drive next.

            [ul]
[li]Download HD Tune and save the file.[/li][li]Install HD Tune and restart it after installation.[/li][li]Then go to the tab Error Scan , select the hard drive you want to check and press Start .[/li][li]The check can be quite time consuming take depends on the size of the hard drive check.[/li][li]Take a screen shot of the result and save it. Upload it to IMGUR for us. Post the link here.[/li][li]Do Not tick the quick scan!![/li][/ul]

At this point, if your HDD checks out as ok. It is time to do a fresh install.

              Hi crackerjack

I analyzed your dump file The BSOD was caused by Bitdefender.

One fix you can try is to go to Boot into Safe Mode and go to Run. Type regedit and click Enter. Navigate to:
              [ICODE]HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Servic es\bdselfpr[/ICODE]
and click the ImagePath key. If it says something like
              [ICODE]\\??\C:\[/ICODE]
              remove the \?? part.

Also make sure Bitdefender is fully up-to-date

If everything checks out, Bitdefender is up-to-date, and the registry key looks correct, I would highly recommend a fresh install of Windows as Mal suggested. It’ll save so much headache in the future and will give you a clean slate to start from

Many thanksfor your patience and assistance friends!
I WILL CARRY OUT THE PROCEDURES AS INSTRUCTED BY YOU EXPERTS !

But a question from a thickie first
Back in the days of xp -I had a similar problem with Bullguard AV that was snarling up a programme installation -Iwould assume similar to what is happening with B D
(YOU CAN STOP ME AT ANY POINT WHEN YOUVE FINISHED LAUGHING AT THIS PC THICKIES QUESTION!!!)

The solution then I found was to System Restore prior to the Bukkguard installation / do a thorough fullclean up /disconnect from the net / and then install my sware (photographic sw package from disk
Then reconnect to internet and load latest Bullguard again from the site link

You havent suggested or hinted atb something similar and (just for my information and a bit more PC knoewledge ) wondered why
If BD isthe culprit --then forget it and use another respected and genuine AV loaded afterwards instead
Just Wondering! ! Your explanation on the mereits /snags of this probably worthless idea welcomed
                Cheers Crackers

That shows that the Hard Drive is ok would still suggest a fresh install.

There are only two that I would suggest some one use that are free.

has there been bad reviews of B D RUSTYS??
ALSO re the bsod possible solution - as I`m yet to use win10 regularly -I gather the F8 function for safe mode doesnt function --so based on the site advice --how do i get into safe mode and the reg edit screen to carry out an examination of B DEFENDER problem as suggested .

Then as you say -weve exhausted all possibilities - and its crunch time eh!!!
However I really appreciate your efforts -and at the moment -repeat- wish I`d stayed on win 7 pro!!
