Seeing two problems there, one was flagged up in Speccy which is Windows is having problems and the other is with ASUS software.

We can see if we are able to fix Windows but the ASUS software we can do nothing about and tbh the best thing to do with it would be to uninstall all none essential ASUS software and then reinstall only what you actually use, the MTB log shows that you have a mountain ASUS stuff installed so get rid of everything apart from the chipset drivers then post back so we can take a look at Windows.

Ok, so started trying to remove programs. I removed Sonic Studio and the ASUS Radar thing. However, when I tried to mess around with AURA just to see what it was (in particular, tried to press that Off button in the top right as shown in the pic) the PC audio stuttered to a halt and froze up for a minute before I restarted. Now every time I restart the computer, sometimes it detects the keyboard and sometimes it does not. After turning off the pc, I’ve also tried turning off the power supply before trying to reboot with not much luck so far this evening (problem only appeared this evening)
Assuming I can get back control of my pc, how’s the best way to go about removing these unnecessary ASUS programs, as many of them didn’t appear in Uninstall/Install.[ATTACH type=“full”]7201[/ATTACH]

I’m gonna try turning it on again tomorrow as I have to go now, so I’ll post tomorrow whether the computer lets me do stuff. For now though, keyboard and mouse work I’m navigating the troubleshooting screen that comes up when the computer experiences an error booting up but not when I’m trying to log in into windows. I’ve been forced to turn off the computer via the power button everytime so far.

6:10 AM: Ok, so this morning, I could put in my pin and log in but after that, the computer essentially freezes. Oh no.
Trying to restore the computer to about an hour before I started uninstalling things.
6:25 AM: Ok, that worked and I now have access to my pc. If there’s a better way to go about removing things safely, please let me know. I’m gonna hold off on making any other changes until then.

Because you are having problems booting into Windows I would suggest that for now when the PC is not in use put it in stand by rather than shutting it down altogether, it just may not boot up next time

The Aura stuff is intended for all the flashy multi coloured lighting hardware such as case LEDs, RAM and CPU cooling fan etc, not a fan myself and just see it as something else that can go wrong, to help get rid of it see the below;

Post an Autoruns log for us, see here

1: Extract the Autoruns Zip file contents to a folder.

2: Double-click the “Autoruns.exe”.

3: Click on the "Hide Signed Microsoft and Windows Entries” option.

4: Go to File then to Export As or Save in some versions.

5: Save AutoRuns.txt file to known location like your Desktop > when you click on File > Save you will then get the option to Save as type, click the drop down tab, change it to Text and then click the Save button.

Thank you for reopening, here’s the autorun log. I have been talking to others recently and they made me remember that when I had initially put on the thermal paste for the (CPU?), I had screwed up the paste a little before properly installing it on (it had come with a thin layer of paste already on the fan). I may try to reapply paste if I can get to the store during the week.

Not a problem with you discussing this with others but only as long as you do not follow suggestions made elsewhere while you have an ongoing thread here, we don`t want any mishaps.

Your CPU temps are between 51 and 53 °C according to Speccy, bit warm for a computer that is idle but the true test would be what it reaches when gaming.

Delete the following entries in Autoruns, see To Disable or Delete? info here for “how to”

Once done, run Autoruns again and post the new log for us, can you also let us know how the computer has been behaving since last Wednesday.
